From Jackson Hole: Yellowstone Old Faithful, Waterfalls and Wildlife Day Tour
Description
This small-group tour is a fantastic way to observe wildlife as well as take in Grand Teton's beauty and Yellowstone’s numerous geyser basins. We will be making stops at Oxbow Bend, Old Faithful geyser, Yellowstone Lake, Hayden Valley, Fountain Paint Pots and Mud Pots, West Thumb Geyser Basin, the Lower Falls of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, as well as several other geyser basins. Yellowstone National Park’s rich history, geology, wildfires and wildlife will be discussed in detail throughout the tour. Wildlife that is often observed on this tour are bison, grizzly bears, black bears, wolves, moose, elk, eagles, mule deer, pronghorn, and coyotes. We will offer many stops throughout the tour for guests to get out of the vehicle and observe the different wildlife viewing opportunities with the binoculars and scope that we provide, and to walk the various boardwalks we stop at. This tour will include a picnic style lunch that will be served by your guide.

On March 1, 1872, Yellowstone became the first national park for all to enjoy the unique hydrothermal and geologic features. We'll be exploring the Lower Loop of Yellowstone National Park on your tour! You will get to experience a little of everything that makes Yellowstone National Park so famous: wildlife, geysers (including Old Faithful), waterfalls, and unforgettable scenery. Opportunities to observe wildlife in an intact ecosystem, explore geothermal areas that contain about half the world’s active geysers, and view geologic wonders like the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River.
The most famous geyser in the world, Old Faithful geyser was named for its frequent and somewhat predictable eruptions, which number more than a million since Yellowstone became the world’s first national park in 1872. Guests will be able to watch Old Faithful erupt from the nearby wooden boardwalk and check major bucket list item off their list!
Old Faithful Inn was Built in 1903-1904 with local logs and stone from what is now the Yellowstone National Park area. The Inn is considered the largest log structure in the world. The towering lobby features a massive stone fireplace and a hand-crafted clock made of copper, wood and wrought iron serving as focal points.

Lower Falls, the biggest waterfall in Yellowstone at 308-feet tall, is the most famous waterfall in the park. The canyon’s colors were created by hot water acting on volcanic rock. It was not these colors, but the river’s yellow banks at its distant confluence with the Missouri River, that occasioned the Minnetaree Indian name which French trappers translated as roche jaune, yellow stone. The canyon has been rapidly downcut more than once, perhaps by great glacial outburst floods.
The Fountain Paint Pots is an amazing stop in Yellowstone National Park's Lower Loop. They are mud pots located in Lower Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park. The Fountain Paint Pots are named for the rich reds, and vivid yellows and browns of the mud in this area. The differing colors are derived from oxidation states of the iron in the mud.
Hayden Valley is a must stop wildlife paradise and the location of the largest herd of free roaming bison in the world. We'll be watching for bears, wolves, bison, elk, mule deer, coyotes, fox, eagles, pronghorn and other critters while driving through this beautiful area!
We'll walk along the boardwalk and discover the many beautiful hydrothermal pools located in this basin area that is an extension of the Yellowstone Lake area.
Oxbow Bend is one of the most photographed spots in Grand Teton National Park. Mount Moran, in the Grand Teton mountain range, is set in the background and the Snake River winds into a beautiful oxbow in the foreground. Mirror reflections of Mount Moran are sometimes possible when we arrive to this spot on non-windy mornings!
Jackson Lake is in Grand Teton National Park in northwestern Wyoming. This natural lake was enlarged by the construction of the Jackson Lake Dam, which was originally built in 1911, enlarged in 1916 and rebuilt by 1989

Kirsten was an excellent guide and driver. She showed us many awesome sites. Small group of six was perfect.
We did a full day tour of Yellowstone. It was a small group, my husband and I were joined by 2 other couples. We were picked up by our tour guide Kirsten in an air conditioned van. She took us to all the important spots. We saw amazing wildlife, geysers a waterfall and the scenery was just breathtaking. Kirsten was very knowledgeable and did a great job making sure we were all taken care of.
Excellent overview of Yellowstone. We saw moose, bear, bison, and deer. Our guide Amanda was great and provided us close up pics of what we saw.
We had a great time the day of our tour to Yellowstone our guide Phil was so knowledgeable Kind caring and thoughtful making sure that we were all taken care of and having a fun day the picnic lunch was real good Phil found the perfect picnic spot for us I would highly recommend this company to anyone planning a trip to Yellowstone
This is a must do tour. Our guides Phil and Ray were outstanding. They had so much knowledge and knew so much history of the national parks and we saw so many unforgettable sights. The day went by very fast as there was always something to see. We never felt rushed and had plenty of opportunities to stop and stretch. Phil made sure we saw all of the wildlife and captured images so we could see up close. The tour was engaging and informative. A memorable day. Thank you!

STOP READING AND BOOK!! If I could give more stars I truly would! The booking process was super easy, Brushback called me to verify all of the information I entered was correct and find out where we wanted to go since we booked a private tour. We chose to skip Old Faithful and went to Grand Prismatic instead which was amazing. We met our guide, Steve, at the Stilton parking lot which was seamless. Our group of 6 were hesitant to book the tour due to the price but it was WELL worth it. Our tour guide, Steve, was absolutely amazing and our teens are still talking about him days after the trip. Steve was incredibly knowledgeable about the trip to Yellowstone as well as Teton National Park and everywhere else we traveled. We saw a moose early on the journey, then a bachelor herd of elk on the hill above a field (47 of them), finally bison all before even getting to Teton NP. Throughout the day, Steve knew exactly where to go to beat crowds, get the best views and was constantly checking to see where we needed to be. By the end of our day we added an elk and a grisly sighting to the aforementioned sightings which was well beyond our expectations. Steve provided all of his amazing photos and videos to us at the end of the day which as another huge bonus! Our kids said if they were to come back and do the tour again it would ONLY be with Steve! He is a true asset to the area and an amazing person. Thanks, Steve, you're the best!! Seriously, stop reading and book immediately!
We had Amanda as our guide and she was great. She picked us up on time and was very well prepared. The car was clean and well stocked with snacks and drinks. She brought binoculars for us to use and had a scope to see wildlife from a great distance. We had a great time and enjoyed her vast knowledge of everything from the history to the biology and local customs and dos and donts. Thank you for a great day.
We had a GREAT trip on this 1-day tour with Ron who is a wonderful guide. The day we traveled, we had 7 passengers in the van, with Ron as our driver and guide. He made sure we saw EVERYTHING because he knew how to time everything perfectly. We saw a grizzly with cubs, a fox, wolves, elk, LOTS of other wildlife, and more bison that we could count. We loved the waterfalls, and we got to see Old Faithful as well as several more geysers. We had a great picnic that added memories to the day. Ron's knowledge of the area and of the best viewing places made this wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and continue to enjoy sharing photos with our friends.
