Pickup and Wadi Hitan (Valley of the Whales) Our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo for a full-day adventure exploring Fayoum’s famous sites. The journey from Cairo to Fayoum is approximately 95 km. Today’s tour focuses on the Wadi El-Rayan Protected Area, designated in 1989. Begin with a visit to Wadi Hitan (Valley of the Whales), located about 90 km from Fayoum. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its 40-million-year-old whale skeletons, offering incredible insights into one of the greatest evolutionary mysteries: how whales evolved from land-dwelling mammals into ocean-going creatures.
Wadi El-Rayan and Mudawara Mountain On the way to the Wadi El-Rayan Waterfalls, stop at Mudawara Mountain to enjoy panoramic views of the Fayoum oasis. Then continue to Wadi El-Rayan Waterfalls, a natural desert depression featuring two connected lakes and Egypt’s only waterfalls, formed in 1970 by the overflow of farmland drainage waters. This unique landscape combines natural beauty with geological significance, making it a highlight of the day.
Medinet Madi and Return to Cairo After exploring the waterfalls, visit Medinet Madi, an ancient city dating back to the Third Pharaohic Dynasty, originally built by Amenemhet III and completed by Amenemhet IV. Discover the ruins and gain insight into Egypt’s early history. Enjoy a late lunch at a quality local restaurant before returning to Cairo. The tour concludes with a comfortable transfer back to your hotel, ending your day of exploration and discovery.

Amazing journey out to Wadi Al-Hitan (Valley of Whales) and Wadi El Rayan. Sayed Mohy Eldin was an excellent guide through this beautiful landscape! Wadi Al-Hitan showcases in situ early whale fossils out in the beautiful desert landscape along with a great museum on whale evolution and climate change that is well worth visiting! Lunch was delicious. Many thanks to Sayed for a wonderful day!
We just finished visiting the waterfalls, unique in Egypt, and returning to the White desert glamp, we tasted some typical local cuisine. We had a great time, especially with the guide, Musa, who welcomed us from the early morning with a smile and accompanied us throughout the day (even to see the museum of climate change). Highly recommended

It has been spectacular, both the driver and the guide have been super attentive in everything, I give them a 10. Very rolled up. The riskiest Jeep, the very good food, the snowboarding on the sand very funny and the spectacular places visited. Also the guide, a very young boy, did it in Spanish even hiring him in English. Great day.

Amazing experience! Hassan was a trained guide, helpful and attentive to our needs. More than a tour it was a wonderful adventure through the Egyptian countryside and the western desert. For those who like nature and unspoilt views I highly recommend it!

In response to a request to see the desert and fossils, I joined with my children, ages 5 and 3! At first, I was a little worried about how long the drive would last, but thanks to the great care of our guide Mido and the safe driving of Tohaku, the whole family was able to enjoy the trip comfortably! The food, the toilet and the train were all very clean and safe. Mido also cared about the kids so much that we didn’t want to leave at the end! Laugh Even small children can enjoy it with peace of mind, so if you are in doubt, please refer to it! Tohaku
