Itinerary
Meet with your guide at your accommodation and then start your day trip with a drive towards Bulgaria. Your first stop will be at the St. Dimitrie Basarabov Monastery, the only monastery in Bulgaria carved into a cliff that is still inhabited today.
Pass the border into Bulgaria
After Basarabov Monastery continue with your day trip to Veliko Tarnovo. Visit the wonderful Tsaravets Fortress situated on the hills of the city. Enjoy the rich history behind the fortress that is situated at the foothills of the Balkan Mountains.
After the Tsarevets fortress head for city center of Veliko Tarnovo where you will have free time for lunch and shopping with the help of our guide. Conclude your tour with return transport to your hotel in Bucharest.

Amazing small group tour that takes you to explore three different places in Bulgaria. It took all the stress out of the logistics and was very amazing to see 3 unique locations. Driver/tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and I would absolutely recommend.

It is okay to have a little look at Bulgaria.Perhaps in one day it does not give tiempi to anything but if you can a little the atmosphere.

Alex was a great tour guide! The trip down to Bulgaria was broken up into a few stops along the way, which was a nice chance to get up and stretch. We stopped for lunch and had some great food in a small local restaurant. We recommend this side-trip from Bucharest to anyone that may want to visit Bulgaria with a guide.
