We had an amazing experience with our tour guide Ulker, ahe was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional throughout the entire trip.
Nice Tour with Tour Guide Mr. Gani
Took the tour with Narmina, which was excellent! She had to explain in 3 languages at once and did it like a pro. Only downside is, that is a long tour, be prepared.
The tour was good and well organized. Everything went smoothly, and the guide was professional, friendly, and helpful. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would recommend it.
⭐ 1/5 — Extremely disappointing experience. Poor guide, misleading costs, and not worth the time I travel a lot and regularly book guided tours around the world. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing tour experiences I’ve had. I booked the Pink Lake, Candy Cane Mountains, Beshbarmag & related stops tour with Baku Khan Tours, and my guide was Zaur Bayramli. The places themselves have potential, but the overall organization and guiding experience were very poor. The main issues: 1. Misleading additional costs The tour charged significantly more for extras than the actual prices. Entrance fees were presented at around $40, but the actual entrance costs added up to approximately 32 AZN (~$19). Be careful before paying for any additional packages. Also, I would strongly recommend avoiding the optional $40 lunch package. It felt overpriced compared with local prices. 2. Late start and unprofessional attitude The guide arrived late. When I asked about the delay, the response was basically that “this is how I do it,” which felt dismissive rather than professional. 3. Poor behavior during the tour During the first hour of driving, the guide spent a lot of time loudly arguing/talking on the phone instead of engaging with guests or explaining the tour. Throughout the day there was: * Loud music inside the vehicle * A lot of shouting * Very little meaningful information compared with other guides I had in Azerbaijan I had done multiple other tours in Azerbaijan before this one, so the difference in professionalism was very noticeable. 4. Restaurant stop felt like a tourist trap We were taken to a restaurant where the prices were around 3x higher than normal local prices. Most of the group did not want to eat there and asked for another option. Instead of understanding guests’ concerns, the guide became visibly upset. 5. Incorrect information and weak guiding A guide’s main value is sharing history, culture, and accurate facts. Unfortunately, some information provided during the tour was incorrect based on what I learned from other knowledgeable local guides during my stay in Azerbaijan. Most of the day felt like sitting in a vehicle rather than a guided cultural experience. 6. Advertised itinerary was not fully followed The itinerary included Nohur Lake, but we did not visit it. Missing an advertised stop without properly addressing it was disappointing. 7. Some stops are overhyped The hanging bridge stop in particular felt like a tourist trap and did not add much value to the experience. 8. Concern regarding review transparency After the tour, I was unable to leave my review on GetYourGuide. When I contacted GetYourGuide support, I was informed that a review had already been submitted under my booking. I did not write that review. After contacting support, it was removed, but unfortunately I was still unable to add my genuine experience afterward. This was very concerning because honest reviews help future travelers make informed decisions. Overall, Azerbaijan was amazing and I had several excellent guides during my trip — but this specific tour experience was far below expectations. My recommendation: ✅ Visit Azerbaijan ✅ Visit these places if you’re interested ❌ Avoid this tour/operator and research alternatives carefully
The guide was great - I can’t fault him at all! However, the experience was spoiled somewhat by the fact that I was given the wrong pickup time (one hour later than the actual pickup time), meaning I had a pretty rushed and chaotic start to the morning. I knew the travel time would be long, but I still have to say that this tour just doesn’t work. The stops are too short and we were sat in a cramped vehicle for 9 hours. If you want to visit Sheki, I’d highly recommend staying the night.
We went on the tour with high expectations, and all of them were met. It’s a beautiful tour with many different stops and sights to see. Shahid is an amazing tour guide who explains well what each site offers, guides the group very well, is very nice and talkative and speaks English very well. We would highly recommend going on this tour!
Many thanks for your thoughtful review. We’re glad the trip left you with great memories.
Very beautiful tour and well organised! Shahid the guide was very knowledgeable explaining much about the different sides! Thank you!
Shahid was a great guide. The tour took us closer to our next adventure Georgia and we had interesting stops on the way. I truly liked the Church and the hanging bridge.
I had a great experience on today’s tour. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish, smooth transportation, good timing, and interesting stops throughout the day. A special mention to our guide Elshad, who was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience enjoyable. He explained everything clearly, answered questions, and created a very positive atmosphere during the trip. Highly recommended tour — everything went very well.
