Love food … take a cooking course with a local chef

Lihn was a wonderful host and made me feel comfortable from the moment we left my hotel. No one else had booked the session and so I had a wonderful one-on-one cooking class with him. We shared stories. He took me around the farm and we picked fresh herbs, oyster mushrooms and my first papaya from a tree. The class itself was informative and very hands on. I was able to eat as we went. The four courses were delicious. Highly recommend. As a solo traveler this was a great way to see local culture and gain some recipes I will continue to use at home.

Simple, yummy food, great teacher chef

Great hosting organisation, the guide was on time, polite and very chatty and happy, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The location of the farm is 1-1.5 hours North-West of Ho Chi Minh City. We were here during rainy season, but it was cosy and we had the host all to ourselves. The farm is small, but more than sufficient to experience a little bit of local nature and farming habits. The company hosting the cooking class has also many different business ideas: farming school, cashew factory, restaurant, team building event grounds. During the class we cooked 4 dishes: 1 starter, 2 mains and 1 dessert. All were very yummy. The teacher chef Alice had a very special way of teaching us, involving small stories and a fun language that made it easy to remember and learn. Everything was done in extremely safe and clean conditions. I would really recommend this homey experience to whomever is wants to enjoy a bit of simple and healthy food and a great out-of-the-city experience.

Amazing, filling experience

Chef Alice was a great instructor; she was so sweet, and we learned a lot about Vietnamese sauce philosophy and the medicinal properties of herbs! We had a total class size of 5, and everyone agreed that the 4 dishes we made were altogether very very filling. I didn't expect the traffic to and from the farm to be pretty bad and make it about 2 hours each way, but it was still in a very nice van with AC - we also had complimentary water on the way back to the urban area. We also got some certificates at the end of the class

Alice was wonderful!

The cooking class was overall fun and educational. We were picked up on time, travelled by A/C van, and learned quite a bit about the medicinal uses of the herbs and vegetables at the farm Alice was kind, spoke good English, and the cooking was fun. We saw cows, a water buffalo, unleashed dogs, and some kittens. We also harvested from a mushroom-growing area. The cooking stations were spacious and they were in a space that doubles as a cashew factory, without loud machines, just quiet workers sorting cashews, which are available for purchase. Make sure you wear shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy.

Amazing day with chef Zan

We had an amazing day in Ho Chi Minh City with a cooking class in the morning and a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels in the afternoon. The cooking class with Chef Zan was a real highlight—he was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience both fun and easy to follow. We started with a tour of the beautiful garden then cooked several traditional Vietnamese dishes, all of which turned out delicious. In the afternoon, we visited the Cu Chi Tunnels with Zan who explained the history clearly and respectfully. Walking through the tunnels was eye-opening and gave us a deeper understanding of the Vietnam War. Everything was well organized and ran smoothly. A perfect mix of food, culture, and history—highly recommended!

Cooking with passion

Very good communication and organization. Linh is a very good teacher who taught us memorable basic rules and a lot of interesting facts. Harvesting the ingredients on the Organic Farm was very interesting. An absolute highlight in HCM not to be missed

Amazing cooking experience

We loved this experience/cooking class. Despite the longish commute from District 1 in heavy morning traffic (90mins), we loved learning so much about Vietnamese Food, ingredients and how to prepare and cook. Having the opportunity to pick and choose all your fresh ingredients from their own farm is also special. The company is owned by a chef who owns restaurants in Melbourne, he is passionate about training more Vietnamese chefs, and we were impressed by all the staff and local chef Daisy. We have a whole new appreciation of Vietnamese food, and would highly recommend this to anyone who is considering a cooking class in HCMC.

Above and Beyond!!

WOW, this was so much more of an incredible experience than I ever thought it would be! My tour guide, Linh, was funny, thoughtful, and so knowledgeable. Because he knew my interest in herbal medicine, he made sure to spend extra time teaching me about the plants and their medicinal properties. The cooking was SO FUN, and the food was incredibly filling. I have many dietary restrictions (gluten free , dairy free) and they accommodated every request to make sure I was able to be without worry! The mushroom growth process was fascinating , and I can tell this cooking school and farm is filled with love and passion to make the world a better place!
