Exclusive 2D1N Marrakech to Fes: Erg Chebbi & Ait Ben Haddou Stop

We had an amazing Sahara Desert tour from Marrakech, and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Morocco. A huge thank you to our guide, Moha, who was friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish. He always made sure everyone was comfortable and shared great local insights along the way. The scenery was incredible, the desert camp was unforgettable, and the whole tour was very well organised. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Morocco!

I took this trip with my 18 year old daughter. The staff were nice. The guides in the desert were local and took good care of us. Being in the desert was a lovely experience. We had some issues worth noting. First, we were in the back row of the bus between 2 strangers. The seats were small and we were crammed together to the point of severe pain. It was a long time to be in such discomfort. I could not read, eat or drink on the bus because there was not enough space. We paid 200 MAD each to tour Benhaddour. Our bus broke down on the way there. Eventually the main bus full of people not taking to trip to Benhaddour caught up to us and we switched over to the big bus. When we got to Benhaddour several people on the big bus who never paid for the tour were invited to join us and I confirmed with them they were not asked to pay. We were told we only had 40 minutes for the tour because we were behind due to the break down. It took us a bit to walk there and back. We really had no time there. The next day on the drive home we stopped to see wild monkeys. I refused to feed them knowing the danger. Men were waiting on the woods to give peanuts and collect payment. I looked over and saw monkeys climbing on my daughter. The guide kept telling me not to worry because the monkeys are kind and safe. The monkey bit my daughter and drew blood. Another monkey scratched the face of a 10 year old boy in our group (no blood). It has been difficult to find a Rabies vaccine in Fes. They are in short supply and not available at international travel medical clinics. Although we found a vaccine , the Canadian government does not recognize it due to questions around proper refrigeration here. When we get back to Canada she will need to start her doses over and she will need an immunoglobulin shot within 7 days of the bite. This shot is simply not available here in Morocco that we can find. I have told the tour company about this and they say the monkey stop is planned and popular. I don’t think putting tourists at risk of a deadly disease is a wise idea.

Wonderful experience! A must do! One night was perfect for me. The bus ride is long 10 plus hours but has lots of stops to break it up. Our guide/ driver aloha was excellent. He made the trip fun and memorable with his entertaining and lively personality. He made the trip memorable. Tip: lunch stops are not that great so pack a lunch and bring lots of snacks.

I was basically just looking for a good transfer option that connects Fes and Marrakesh and was positively surprised with the quality of the accomodation as well as the length of the desert activity. Highly recommend. Our driver Moha (see picture) did a great job and safely brought us from A to B.

Amazing experience! A magical afternoon end in the desert with a night under the starry sky :) The trip itself to the desert is very well worth it with several stops in the sights. Our guide / conductor Moha was very helpful, always with a smile and a lot of animation, guaranteed us very comfortable conditions in the cart itself (muuuito AC, wifi and USB sockets) and great suggestions for meals. We highly recommend!!

It was an incredible and unforgettable experience. The journey to the desert is very long but totally worth it. The landscapes and stops along the way are spectacular and make time pass quickly. Our driver/guide Moha was also great at dynamizing the trip, with lots of fun and knowledge. The camel ride was a unique experience and our Lahssen guide was super friendly and helped us immense. The campsite is very nice and everyone was wonderful guests. It is an experience not to miss for those who do not have time for more days. I suggest you take the night to see the stars as it is not possible in most cities.
