Our guide Gianni was amazing and full of great information. We also met up with their other group and their guide Luca. Between the two guides, it was one of the best excursions I’ve ever done! The hike looks intimidating, but it’s done in sections that made it easy for everyone.
We got to see all areas of Mt. Etna and our guide Luca was knowable and friendly. I would recommend this excursion to anyone looking to find out more about Mt. Etna. The Gorge was also really cool but I recommend bringing water shoes or sandals!!!

Had a great day at Mt. Etna and a visit to the Alcantara Gorge. With a small group we went to Etna accompanied by our Guide Alex. He has told a lot about the volcano, previous eruptions and the nature in the area. In between well catered lunch, and the day ended with a visit to the Alcantara gorge. Water shoes are a must to take with you by the way.😬 We enjoyed this beautiful and educational day.
Thank you sincerely for providing your feedback. Vittorio
We had a very interesting trip. Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable, informative, helpful and friendly. He was very conscious of our safety at all times. He explained the history of the mountain, the lava flows and the way the trees and plants have adapted to live on different parts of Etna. We went down a lava tunnel and walked around some of the dormant craters. We were shown various lava rocks that contained fools gold and a blue mineral. We then went on to Alcantara Gorge. The rock formations were fascinating. You can wade through the gorge for a better experience and view of the Gorge. I would recommend taking swim wear as the water is about 3 feet deep in some places and you will get wet. Overall it was a great day out! Thank you MrExcurions!

Great trip! Alex, our guide was very informative, friendly and helpful. He showed us lots of amazing views and gave us lots of interesting facts about the mountain’s history, the lava flows, the lava rocks and how the trees and plants have adapted to live on mountain Etna. He was very conscious of our safety at all times, which was very reassuring. Alcantara Gorge has stunning rock formations. Wading through the gorge is amazing however ensure you take swim wear as you may get wet. The water is about 3ft deep in some parts. We would definitely recommend this 2 part trip!!

Our guide was very nice. We felt informed, entertained and safe. The whole trip was very well organized. We absolutely recommend it!
Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback. It is greatly appreciated. Best regards, Vittorio.
It cost 9 euros to take the lift down to the Gorge. Then you could just walk about 100 yards before being turned back. We tried to climb the very steep staircase but it was locked at the top. The toilets in the cafe were also locked.
Hi Jennyall, I'm sorry for what happened to you. Still, you are confusing us who is an agency that organizes tours also to the Alcantara Gorges with the Alcantara Botanical Park that they are the ones who charge you for the elevator ticket not us as a private agency. To understand better I checked our bookings and to my knowledge, you have never been on tour with us, so please delete the review that has nothing to do with us but you should do it at Alcantara gorges botanical park. I hope you understand I thank you for your patience and I hope you delete this review as soon as possible which is not truthful to us.
The guide Jessica gave us a fantastic day with a lot of information, not only about the day's excursion destination but also about the whole island. She was passionate about her subject, was very knowledgeable and explained simply o clearly. A day to remember!
Thank you so much, Vittorio
Four of us were travelling together and decided to take this tour. It was excellent. Vito (Vitoria) was a terrific driver and tour guide. Mt. Etna is not something you want to take on yourself. We stopped for lunch on the way to our hiking spot, and then spent about an hour hiking to one of the upper reaches of the volcano. Vito provided in depth information about the history of the volcano, pointing out areas that dated from past eruptions. The stop at Alcantara Gorges was also well-managed and interesting, although Etna was certainly the highlight of the day.
Thank you so much, Louisa!
