Set out to a private sunset day trip to Cape Sounion. Our trip starts with a wonderful drive along the Athens Rivera. During this relaxing ride you’ll enjoy splendid views of the Saronic Gulf while passing through some of Athens’ most beautiful suburbs, including Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza. Arriving at the Cape Sounion, you will visit the 5th century B.C. Temple of Poseidon with its magnificent panoramic view of the Aegean Sea (on a clear day you can see several islands). Cape Sounion has long played an important part in Greek mythology and history, and the first recorded mention of it occurs in the Odyssey, as the last safe landing before Poseidon scattered the returning Greek navy. As god of the sea, Poseidon was very important for ancient Greeks, and the scale of the Temple at Cape Sounion reflects that. After visiting the Temple, filled from the beauty, the history and the culture of this site you are set to admire one of the most amazing sunsets you could ever imagine. Similarly, when the sun begins to slowly touch the sea it is the perfect moment for a glass of wine, before having your dinner in a scenic, nearby seafront tavern. We pickup from all Athens Hotels & Airbnb's. Airport or Airport Area Pickup/Drop Off is extra charge. Please contact us prior to booking. Due to the fact that sunset is at different time per month please note that pick up is as follows : April , May, August at about 18:00 June, July at about 18:30 September at about 17:30 October at about 17:00 November, December, January at about 15:00 February, March at about 15:30 At Low Season, we visit a restaurant about 70 meters ( 230 feet) from the seaside. This experience consists of 4 options regarding dinner inclusion. Please make sure that you have booked the correct option : stop for dinner (dinner is on you) /stop for dinner (dinner is included in the total cost).

This excursion was amazing. It was one of my favorite excursions in Greece. The view from Poseidon Temple was unbelievable. The sunset was breathtaking. Our driver Theo was very knowledgeable and funny. He asked us if we had seen several places and we told him we had. We told him the only thing we hadn’t seen was the Olympic stadium. He said he would take us there even though it wasn’t part of our tour. He was so accommodating. Crispy Local is a wonderful company to take tours with. The drivers are the best.
My kids and I loved our trip down to the Temple of Poseidon with Theo! He was entertaining and knowledgeable, and my daughter says to let him know we settled up for €75 for the photos 😆😆😆

A fantastic experience driving along the Athenian Riviera enroute to Sounion to see Poseidon’s Temple at sunset! The views are amazing! Jason picked us up promptly from our hotel in a luxury Mercedes Benz suv, and chose the most perfect place for dinner on the Riviera with views of the temple. Jason was fantastic and quite knowledgeable about Greece! We’d definitely make this tour a “must do” on your trip to Athens!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our driver was the best. Dimitris was very knowledgeable, easy to keep a conversation with, and kept us safe throughout the whole trip. We enjoyed our dinner overlooking the water. Our Tour of the Poseidon Temple given by Maria was great. She was very detailed and gave us room to ask questions. Overall, it was a great experience and would highly recommend.

We had a great time on this outing to see the sunset at Cape Sounio and Poseidon’s Temple. The view was spectacular and very special. Harry and George made the ride very fun and gave us a lot of great information. We also enjoyed a lovely dinner by the sea. I would highly recommend. My only advice would be to get your entrance tickets to the temple in advance.

We were a group of four. The drive to Sounion was comfortable in a large Mercedes SUV. Dinner spot was across a little bay from the Temple of Poseidon with a beautiful view! We got to the main site with an hour to spare before sunset which was good because there was quite a line to get tickets. Recommendation - get tickets online in advance at tickets.hh.gr. The views were spectacular and the weather perfect! Driver parked in a great spot so we got out of there w/o delay, but the ride home was busy because of traffic on Sunday nights in the summer! Definitely worth the trip

We had a lovely evening as the finale of our first trip to Greece. The company always quickly responded to communication to set up our dinner reservation. Our guide, Jason, was prompt to pick us up, very professional and friendly. It was lovely to talk to him and learn more about living in Greece. It was neat to have the perspective of that part of the country, beautiful driving down the shoreline- so different from Athens. The lighting on the temple was amazing around the sunset. Highly recommend!

We had a truly magical experience at Sunion, beautiful weather, and a great sunset with 360 degree views. We started with the drive to the coast, and then headed south down the coastal roads with and a stop to see the amazing Lake Vouliagmeni. It's a moderate drive but our driver Harry kept us entertained the whole way discussing sports, politics and life in Greece. The dinner stop was literally steps from the water and had a great traditional Greek meal. Then we arrived with perfect timing to see the sunset. Another quick stop to get gelato, and back to our apartment. We even got to see the changing of the guard as the stars aligned and the timing, like the entire trip, was perfect,
