Looking over Edinburgh New Town, your guide will point out some key features that played a major part in the creation of the magical Harry Potter world.
Next, we’ll pass by this famous old campus which provided lots of inspiration to JK Rowling’s creations…. This place might remind you of Hogwarts!
We continue through the atmospheric streets of the Old Town, where your guide will show you many of the city’s most famous historical landmarks.
In this spooky graveyard you will see many recognisable names from the Potter world - this is the site of Tom Riddell’s grave and a number of other names used for JK Rowling’s characters.
You’ll enjoy wonderful views of this beautiful old castle, which plays a huge part in Scottish history as well as inspiring JK Rowling's Potter Universe.
With its colourful independent shops, overhanging street signs and the cobbled street that twists and turns out of view, it's easy to see why this is said to be the inspiration for Diagon Alley!

Paul was great especially with the kids
Earlier in the day we were supposed to go on another tour that unfortunately got canceled. Instead of forgoing a tour we offered to take this tour with Paul and we are so glad that we did. Paul really turned around the whole experience for us. He made the tour very fun and entertaining with little Harry Potter/JK Rowling/Edinburgh trivia quizzes along the way and we even got to practice our wizarding skills! Thanks for turning our day around Paul :)
We had a fantastic tour with Paul! The kids all enjoyed (9, 12, 13) as much as we (the parents) did. Paul was entertaining and also knowledgeable about both Harry Potter and about Edinburgh history, and the time passed quickly. Highly recommend!
Tour guide was very informative friendly
Millie was our tour guide and she was fantastic. She looked the part. She was friendly and engaging. She really knew her stuff and made sure the content of the tour was age appropriate for the children there. My 9 year old has raved about her since and the tour. Such value for money. Highly recommend and hopefully you get Millie when you book. 5 ⭐
This was such a fun tour with Paul! He was engaging and knowledgeable and showed us many of the fun sites related to JK Rowling and Harry Potter. He included everyone, those who knew lots about Harry Potter and those who knew very little and shared information about the city as a whole as we walked around. Even in some slight rain the tour was great. Thanks Paul for a fun couple of hours!
Connor, our guide brought Harry Potter to life for us. He certainly is an expert on everything to do with all the books. We really enjoyed our guided tour with him. Very surprising that there were many more adults and children in the group! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon! And thank you Connor for making it so much fun.
We loved this tour! Paul was an awesome guide. We learned about Edinburgh, and had lots of Harry Potter-themed fun along the way.
We had a wonderful time on our tour with our guide Millie. She was organized, knowledgeable and fun. We had a group ranging in age from 10 to 71 years old and everyone enjoyed the tour. I especially appreciated the attention she gave to my 10 year old Harry Potter fan daughter. We also loved that Millie has a Harry Potter scarf and hair ribbon which were really cute touches that added to the fin of the tour. I highly recommend the tour and Millie did a fantastic job!
Long , wonderful day. Views unique & breathtaking . Our guide was perfect- friendly, great driver & amazing knowledge of Scotland . Rail ride was a dream come true for our Thomas the Tank fan !
