Itinerary
The Franjo Tuđman Bridge (Croatian: Most dr. Franja Tuđmana) is a cable-stayed bridge carrying the D8 state road at the western approach to Dubrovnik, Croatia across Rijeka Dubrovačka near Port of Gruž. The original bridge design was developed in 1989; however, construction was stopped at the onset of the Croatian War of Independence. The bridge has been redesigned by Structures Department of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Civil Engineering and the design employed has been developed by Zlatko Šavor.Construction of the bridge started in October 1998. The construction works were carried out by Walter Bau AG and Konstruktor, Split.[3] Construction was completed in April 2002, and the bridge was officially opened on May 21, 2002. The bridge construction costs were reportedly 252 million Croatian kuna (c. US$31 million) making Franjo Tuđman Bridge the most expensive bridge in Croatia.[2][5] Opening of the bridge was characterized by delays due to various permit requirements, so the opening and dedication ceremony was delayed five times.
The Ombla is a short river in Croatia, northeast of Dubrovnik. Its course is approximately 30 metres (98 feet) long, and it empties into the Rijeka Dubrovačka embayment of the Adriatic Sea near Komolac in Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Rijeka Dubrovačka is actually a ria, a flooded river valley formed through changes in sea surface elevation on a geologic time scale. The river rises as a karst spring fed by groundwater replenished by Trebišnjica, which is an influent stream flowing in Popovo Polje, in the immediate hinterland of the Ombla. The elevation difference between the river's source and its mouth is just over 2 metres (6 feet 7 inches). The average discharge of the river is 24.1 cubic metres (850 cubic feet) per second. The drainage basin of the Ombla encompasses 600 square kilometres (230 square miles) and, besides the short surface course, includes only groundwater flow.
Srđ is a low mountain just behind the walled city of Dubrovnik in Dalmatia, Croatia.[1] The mountain, part of the Dinaric Alps, has a height of 412 metres (1,352 ft).[2] At its top is a large white stone cross and Fort Imperial, a defensive structure built by the French in 1810 during the Napoleonic Wars. Srđ is popular with tourists as a viewpoint[1] from which it is possible to see the walled city of Dubrovnik, Lokrum island, the Adriatic Sea and various local attractions (including restaurants and the Stradun).
Cavtat (Croatian pronunciation: [t͡sǎʋtat],Italian: Ragusa Vecchia, lit. 'Old Ragusa') is a village in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County of Croatia. It is on the Adriatic Sea coast 15 kilometres (9 miles) south of Dubrovnik and is the centre of the Konavle municipality. The original city was founded by the Greeks in the 6th century BC under the name of Epidaurus (or Epidauros, Greek: Επίδαυρος).[3][4] The surrounding area was inhabited by the Illyrians, who called the city Zaptal.[5] The town changed its name to Epidaurum when it came under Roman rule in 228 BC. Justinian I the Emperor of the Byzantine Empire sent his fleet to Cavtat during the Gothic War (535–554)[6] and occupied the town. The city was sacked and destroyed by the Avars and Slavs in the 7th century.[7] Refugees from Epidaurum fled to the nearby island, Laus (Ragusa) which over time evolved into the city of Dubrovnik.[8] Middle Ages Edit The town was re-established in the Middle Ages (Italian: Ragusa Vecchia).[9][10] After a short while it came under the control of its powerful neighbor, the Republic of Ragusa. The modern Croatian name for the city reveals its ancient origins and its link with Dubrovnik. Cavtat is derived from Civitas Vetus, that means old city in Latin Language.

The places we visited were beautiful and well worth seeing. The drive thru the coast was lovely. We enjoyed lunch on the Cavtat coast. Walking thru Old Town within the city walls and down the narrow streets was a wonderful treat.
None.Driver spoke little English.Suppose to have guided tour of Cavtat.Just left to walk around. Very disappointed was not as advertised.Reflects poorly on Viator as reliable Company. At the least we should get our money back
Thanks ELIZABETH_S for your review but you are the first to complain about this tour and our guide. Guide told me that you are people who first like to do tour and later complain and want that your money be return to you so that you have free tour. I don't like people like you so please never book tour with me again and people like you are not welcome here.
We were by ourselves so this was a private tour. The driver was good, knew the area, took us to places I hadn’t expected such as areas outside of Dubrovnik affected by the 1990s Balkan war that still show the shelling, bombing of Serbian soldiers against Croatia places of business. We’ve been to the old town of Dubrovnik so this was good to see other areas outside of the town. Cavat was a nice small seaside town.
We enjoyed our tour to see the outskirts of Dubrovnik. Our guide was very nice and had a clean car. We are not sure if he understood our questions. He did tell us about the area. We saw beautiful views. It was supposed to be a four hour tour but it only lasted three hours. It gave us time explore the walled city on ou own.
Thanks sherryresh for you review tour last around 4 hours between 3 or 4 but that depends also on you Guest if you want some more time on each place we visit if you decidedd to have ice cream or drink than tour will be 4 hours
Walking next to the see in this small coastal town with the interesting statues. Going high up to the mountain with the gravel road and the incredible view. Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful places I ever visited.
Our driver was fantastic! Knew so much about the city and took us to some great picture spots for the sunset! Highly recommend!
Love it . Just breathtaking experiences. Thank you so much for awesome tour and experience. Tour guid was good too and driver was fantastic .
Croatia is very nice and the population is very friendly.Restaurant outside the hotel are very good and reasonable in price
We reserved and paid for this tour for four adults. Smiley the tour operator was supposed to meet us at 9:00 a.m., but never showed up. At 9:30 a.m. we did contacted him and he said he was on his way and we waited in the hot sun for 1 hour before giving up on him. He never showed up. Do not use Smiley Tours - we were told by Viator that he would not refund our money. He essentially stole our money.
Thanks 67loish for your review but that what you wrote here is big lie I check in my paper and you have never booked this tour with me. Viator pay me one month later after I do a tour with people that is also lie that I steal your money. How can I steal your money if I didn't got it and you didn't go on tour with me. I wish all best to you and your familly.
