Double Decker Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour - 16 Stops & Stanley Park

The bus service ends earlier than you would expect. Check that out before buying tickets. It was often faster to walk than to ride the bus. The buses weren't terribly clean, and one of them smelled like a giant fart, but that was likely a passenger issue rather than a bus issue. Sherry was a great tour guide in spite of the bus's shortcomings. The tour was the best part.

Very disappointing. And expensive. Chaos at Stop 1, nobody managing the queue properly at any of the three stops we got on / off, inaccurate information about when the next bus was due. They carried on selling more and more tickets when it was obvious that there were enough people waiting to fill two buses. Bus stops nowhere near the sites they were linked to, some had moved because of World Cup and not changed back. They need more buses - far too long to wait for the bus and no guarantee of getting on to a bus when it eventually turns up. Commentary was out of sync with the route and was incredibly naff. Definitely do not recommend - use the trolley or public buses to get around.

It was raining quite heavily the day we were due to go on the bus and we queued for 20 minutes in the rain and were soaked when we eventually got on the bus, there is no shelter at the Canada Place bus stop. As it was raining all the windows in the bus steamed up and you were unable to see the lovely city of Vancouver. After 20 minutes the driver switched on the fans and hay presto we could see. The bus then broke down in Stanley park but after a few minutes it was able to go again. The bus broke down again 10 minutes later under a motorway and this time did not restart. The announcement to the passengers was not heard by us all so we were left guessing as to what happened. Another bus arrived and we guessed we had broken down so we went to try and get on this one, however it quickly filled up and we were left standing under the motorway. A further bus arrived and we were lucky to get a seat, however all confidence in Hop on Hop off bus service had left us so when we got back to Canada Place we got off never to return. Not a great way to see beautiful Vancouver, seems there might be some staff training issues as they did not appear to know what they were doing.

Too slow....took tour today and twice we sat at stops so another bus could go ahead.....2.5 hours to do 1 loop...not worth what we paid.

The bus and the commentary is OK. Not Great ..Not Bad.. Bus is slow...Sometimes you wait for over 20 minutes for the next bus... and... Then...there are not any good seats available. If you get stuck in traffic, it takes forever to get to the next stop?? For the price it's OK as a means of getting to know the lay of the land???

We do a lot of tour buses when visiting cities, I think they’re one of the best ways to get around and be able to explore at your own leisure. We have done loads of City Sightseeing tours and were surprised not to find one in Vancouver so we chose the Big Bus tour instead. I was surprised no tour commentary in a language other than English, and that was very distorted over the speakers so you couldn’t really grasp what was being said. 20 German tourists got on and the guide on the bus was less than helpful with guiding them to download the app for the commentary in their language and I think we were halfway round before they gave up asking for help. There was nowhere near enough buses for the volume of passengers, they ran every half hour ish so if you couldn’t get on the bus and had already been waiting, you could be waiting nearly an hour. In Downtown this wasn’t so much of an issue but Stanley Park is too hilly for most people to walk. Would definitely not recommend. Only gave the 2 stars as the bus finally got us to our destination and stopped outside our hotel.

I would not recommend this bus tour at all, for the following reasons: 1. Very infrequent service- you can be waiting around at a bus stop for more than 30 minutes. 2. On a number of occasions when the bus did turn up it was full and you had to wait a considerable time for the next bus to arrive! The number of buses is totally inadequate during peak times. You waste a great deal of time waiting for buses, instead of exploring the city. 3. Very poor value for money- cost for 1 day's use is $75. It is especially poor value considering what I have noted in my first two points. 4. The commentary is recorded on most buses and not live. In summary- very disappointing, and definitely not worth the money. A very poor value for money experience!

Bus was too full to board so we walked to the next stop to explore some and board there. Went to meet a bus and it boarded at the other end of the block from where the app showed. Once we got onboard we sat for 15-20 min. before leaving, and it was super hot on the bus. People standing and sweating in aisles (and we kept thinking we would leave any minute) so it was difficult to get downstairs to tell the driver. We instead called the number and told them we were up on top roasting so they could contact the driver. They said they could let him know. Then we started moving and experienced super short segments between stops with not much narration. Drive 5 minutes and then sit for another 5-15 minutes. The temperature did not improve much and everyone on the top level was miserable. We couldn't take the long stops and the heat anymore, so we got off after a couple stops and we explored on our own. We then had to pay for Ubers to get back to our hotel. I should have researched and read more reviews, but we'd used Big Bus Tours in San Francisco and Philadelphia and we enjoyed our tours, so I assumed this would be the same. It was not! Big Bus Tours in Vancouver was a disaster and we will be requesting a refund

The Big Bus hop on hop off tour was a great way to get an overview of the entire city. Bus driver Sherry was very personable and did her own narration. The other drivers played prerecorded narration. Easy way to see all the spots and get from point a to point b easily. Chinatown is not worth visiting and should be taken off the tour. Sadly, there’s little there that’s Chinese anymore. It’s mostly a magnet for homeless people and addicts. The other stops were great.

Driver Sherry was outstanding. Very friendly, excellent commentary for sights and landmarks along the route. Other drivers had very little say beyond hello and used recorded dialogs. Sherry is the Best!
