Itinerary
Meet your guide and head to Ye Olde Mitre—one of London's oldest and most beloved pubs. Built in 1546, this charming pub is a favourite among locals and tourists. With its traditional Tudor-style exterior, Ye Olde Mitre is brimming with history and charm. Step inside and you're met with an old-fashioned atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve taken a step back in time—perfect for enjoying a pork pie and ale, as you’ll do for our first food tasting.
Next, it's a short walk to The Old Bell Tavern, which is a tribute to the London of days gone by. Located near the bustling streets of Covent Garden, it offers a respite from the hustle and bustle of London's streets. Here you’ll enjoy another classic pub pairing of a sausage roll with cider.
Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese is a pub like no other. Walk through the doors and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time, with the historic atmosphere of this 15th century inn. It has been frequented by many household names throughout its long life, including Mark Twain, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Charles Dickens, and Alfred Lord Tennyson. On the menu here: devilled whitebait paired with stout.
Welcome to Ye Olde Cock Tavern, one of London's oldest pubs. Located on the banks of the River Thames, this 600-year-old tavern has been a popular watering hole since 1549. With its heavy wooden beams, low ceilings and charming old-world feel, the Ye Olde Cock Tavern feels like stepping back in time. Pull up a seat at the bar and enjoy a scotch egg washed down with portobello ale.

We went with Shadow on a 3 pm tour. It was a great experience. We had good food, great drinks, and learned a huge amount about pubs. Shadow was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Definitely a great way to learn a bit of London history.
Sharon was amazing. Very fun way to explore the city of London :)
so wonderful! a one of a kind experience
Ollie was absolutely fantastic, made it so interesting to see all the history and also see the fantastic pubs. The beer was great, vibes were high and had the best time ever
Excellent!! We had such a great time. Our guide, Ollie was informative and fun. If you want to have a great tour, great food and beer. Check this out.
Excellent tour, Oliver gave us a very interesting historical tour and the pubs in between were all great!
George was very knowledgeable of the local and greater London history. Took us to 5 pubs and chose great beer for the samples in each of the pubs, some of which dated to the early 16th century. We would have never found a couple of them on our own. Even introduced is to shuffleboard at the end. He was very personable and accommodating throughout. The over 3-hour tour was well worth it.
This tour was well worth it! The history and food were great! George was amazing and so personable which made it that much better!
George showed us some historic pubs and told us great stories about them, London, and the UK. Highly recommended!
DO NOT BOOK!!! We were only a couple minutes late and no one was there. Tried to call the company multiple times and no one picked up. Went to the listed places to try to find the group and they were not there. Called Viator , who called the company and no one picked up so Viator said the money would be refunded. Today as I am leaving London I got an email that said my money would not be returned but that I could rebook for a fee. I tried to call the company again and they did not pick up. Called Viator and they said the company is refusing a refund. Over $200 completely gone to waste. Under no circumstances should you book with this company.
Hi Juline, Thank you for sharing your review. We are saddened to hear about your experience regarding your tour. Please note, that our post tour notes show the guide was present at the meeting point for 10 minutes. This was to allow late joiners to join the tour where possible. As part of delivering a smooth tour experience, many of our locations are timed entry and as such we cannot delay tours in many cases. Unfortunately, as your booking was made through Viator, we refer you to their customer services for resolutions/refunds. We do hope to be able to share an experience with you in future in a great destination. Regards, Walks and Devour
