Taking the train is a very close connection with real Egypt. Even using even using Bookaway to get the tickets required quite an act of faith.... but they turned up at the hotel! The station required a lot of guidance from a local and there was hustle everywhere . The train turned up on time and once on board it went according to plan only arriving an hour late at Luxor. Big wide reclining seats with a tray table, and a refreshment cart came by at intervals and included a hot lunch. The big problems were it did get crowded towards Luxor and everything was filthy - especially the WC. Getting off at Luxor was another hassle avenue. Even though we were met on the platform it required fast footwork to get to waiting taxi with our bags. Wearing rucksacks so that your hands are free would have been better. All in an Unforgettable experience of trains in the developing world

We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding the station guidance, cleanliness, and the busy arrival at Luxor.
