Good comms the night before about meeting place. We only had 4 people so lots of room. Transport comfortable and aircon worked well. Gabriel gave interesting commentary and got us back on good time.
The worst tour guys never informed or answered calls or messages. Wasted time and money getting uber to pickup point.... and the tour guy never turned up!!
I inform you that you did not arrive at the tour and we have a pick-up point for all participants the same! We also returned your money even though it was not our problem that you did not arrive… evaluate the activity correctly! not out of revenge
We visited a rock monastery, a very richly decorated church, and a museum of daily life before arriving at the fortress of Veliko Tarnovo, which gives you a view of the city, the river, etc.
Gabriel our guide and driver was great. Made contact the night before on WhatsApp. Sent the exact location and photos as well as a picture of the minibus. The minibus was in great condition. We set off on time, a group of 6 people and a great day was had by all… Returned back safely to the same spot 12 hours later despite some long queues to cross the border. Gabriel was a great communicator, gave lots of helpful information.
Our small group was very well looked after by our guide Gabriel. Veliko Tarnovo is a stunning location with beautiful buildings and view points. Gabriel recommended a very pleasant restaurant for lunch. The rock monastery and Arabsnasi village are pleasant additional stops. Gabriel ensured regular toilet/ coffee stops. Recommended. This activity is a long day but worth it. Our driver Gabriel was excellent and provided lots of information along the way. There was good stops along the way for coffee/water and bathroom breaks. At the city, we had time on our own for lunch and exploration.
1) when we arrived at meeting point , we had to ask each and every person whether its * DAY TRAVEL*!! There was no vehicle with board of * day travel * There was no vehicle with the pla card of * day travel * service provider. There was no staff wearing jacket/ shirt / tee shirt of * day travel * company. After paying so much money ,is it our job to keep on asking every strangers??? All other service providers are displaying board. Is it so difficult to do it for day travel?? 2) no where in any type of communication.,,it's mentioned that to carry passport. We , with our travel experience, know that Bulgaria is a separate country and there will be border control. So, we had carried passport with our general knowledge. But , the driver. Just before starting asking us whether we have carried passport or not. Imagine, If someone is not aware of the fact , can they go and get passport at the last moment??? Why don't you mention at the time of booking that passport may be needed. Whether, at the border of Bulgaria check or not , it's better to carry. ( normally they may not check. ) By communicating this point , what are you going to lose ? On the contrary you are helping passenger / tourists. 3) the driver is only driver !! He is not a driver cum guide ! He did not talk about the itinerary/ program/ agenda of the day. He never explained about any places. He doesn't know anything about anything!! Even if we ask He says he does not know. Why should we go with the guide who knows nothing! 4) at veliko tarnovo, he showed ticket counter of fortress on the way. And dropped us at some place. Which is about 1 km He said that we have 3 hours free time. We wanted to go to fortress. He said * you walk and go upto fortress ticket counter * ! It's 1 km , hot sun. Why should we walk 1 km. And come back another 1 km and we have again walk, climb in the fortress. When we insisted him to at least drop up to ticket counter. , he dropped us very unhappily . 5)when we asked him about what we can see and explore in veliko tarnovo, he Said he doesn't know. Again why should we pay for this trip just to go with the driver cum guide , to listen * I don't know. I don't know * We can come on our own, check Google and finish of the trip at lesser price! 6) again we asked him suggested restaurants in v tarnovo. He said that he eats only salad and doesn't know any restaurants. We had to walk and walk and strain ourselves to find some restaurants. We got nothing out of this trip. Waste of time, money and emergy. If driver is only driver. , let him drive and keep his mouth shut. If these type of tours are not possible/ not viable, don't offer at all ! Pl delete from the list. Or arrange a good driver and good guide. It's not worth. We deserve our refund. Thanks.
Gabriel our driver was informative and ensured we got the most out of the day. He spoke good English and was a great driver too. The trip had three stops all about the right time in length, although we would have enjoyed more time Albanisi. The scenery was wonderful snd Veliko Tarnovo a hidden gem to us.
Beautiful trip to the mountains and interesting castles/palaces Vlad was a fountain of knowledge, and his jokes were acceptable! Did not see Dracula, but just as well.
Tour guide was very Noelle and flexible. Very organized. Great trip. For once, the restaurant recommended by the guide wasn’t an overpriced trap. Great food.
