Shikanoshima island is a small island that can be accessed in just 30 minutes from central Fukuoka. The townscape and lifestyle of the old fishing village still remains. It once played an important role as a key point for maritime trade. Many of the rituals held at Shikaumi Shrine, which has played an important role in the culture and history of this island, are rare even in Japan. In recent years, it has become a cycling spot loved by local Fukuoka cyclists as it allows you to tour around the coastline. The entire island is designated as Genkai National Park, where visitors can experience the magnificent natural scenery and the lifestyle and traditions of a fishing town.

Awesome experience. The shop attendants were very helpful and friendly. I would suggest coming in early in the day or later in the afternoon when the heat isnt as scorching.
I rented a bike from them, they're really nice and explained the route. They grew up on the island. The shop has some nice clothes as well, I bought a new pair of shorts.
We had a great time cycling with good quality cross bikes. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
I used it around 14:00 on weekdays. They taught me about the precautions of the cycle course and how to ride a bicycle, and I was able to leave immediately. I was able to circumnavigate the island in about two hours, making detours along the way. You can enjoy cycling without getting lost on almost a single road with good scenery. I enjoyed the staff's response with great peace of mind, and the building was stylish and beautiful! If you come to Shikanoshima, I highly recommend it!
Fab, fun day out! Loved it! The shikanoshima cycle guys were friendly and helpful and our family (3 adults and five kids) loved cycling around the island, stopping for local honey and a swim in the blue waters. Highly recommend!!!
