Tour Fukuoka or Nagasaki in safety and comfort with Private Guide

Description
My tours were born out of the idea of giving people the feeling of being connected with the destination in every facet of the tour. Whether it be from the on board commentary, insights into daily Japanese life, historical and important information of each attraction, cultural experiences, Japanese food and drink tastings as well as personal opinions and facts about what it is truly life to live as an expat in this weird and wonderful country we call Japan. It is my belief that only a private tour consisting of a small numbers of members can create this important connection that will stay with us for the rest of our lives! This tour can be customized and is available for pick ups at Airports, Hotels and Cruise Ship Terminals. Pick ups in Nagasaki will visit attractions within as well as neighboring Saga Prefecture. Likewise, pickups in Fukuoka will feature sites within and including neighboring Saga region. You will not be able to visit Fukuoka from Nagasaki and vice versa.
Tour Options
Itinerary
All in all, I rather enjoyed this experience. This attraction is a staple on my Fukuoka walking Tours and one day Driving Tours but only on sunny days where the weather warrants a climb to the highest point in Hakata. Cloudy and rainy days will rely more on cultural attractions rather than visual ones. This attraction is only for Fukuoka itineraries.
A very interesting and remarkable Temple that has the largest reclining Buddha in Japan. A place that will not be forgotten any time soon. This attraction is only for Fukuoka itineraries.
The Granddaddy of all Shrines in Kyushu. This Shrine is dedicated to the Gods of Learning. Many cultural and spiritual experience to be had and seen here. This attraction is only for Fukuoka itineraries.
Couples Rock is a beautiful scenic spot right on the Genkai Sea. This place has been selected as one of Japan’s 100 most scenic places and during summer when the days are at their longest, the final view of the sunset between the 2 rocks will leave a strong and lasting impression on even the least romantic people in this world. This attraction in only for Fukuoka Itineraries.
Arguable the No 1 most famous and delicious Ramen in Fukuoka. Ramen lovers will be throughly impressed by the rich Umami flavor of the food, the history museum and seeing the production process right in front of their eyes. This attraction is only for Fukuoka itineraries.
Suginoya Brewery is one of the most popular stops on our Fukuoka Day Tours. Why? It's all about the tradition of the Sake Brewing process, exploring the old but esthetically pleasing building as well as the tasting experience that gets everyone fully involved in the process. The Brewery is over 140 years old and it shows but in a traditional and authentic way. No one wants to go to a brand new building that lacks character and history, it is for this reason that a huge majority of our customers have rated this attraction as their favorite one on the day. This location is only for Fukuoka itineraries.
Come and see an incredible and picturesque Japanese Garden in all its glory. A beverage choice of coffee or Japanese Green Tea is included in the experience. This attraction is only for Fukuoka itineraries.
The Spectacle Bridge in Isahaya is a double arch stone bridge spanning a pond at Isahaya Park, which is one of the main sightseeing places of the area. The bridge is twice the size of the famous Spectacles Bridge in Nagasaki City and A nature lovers paradise! Location is only for Nagasaki itineraries.
In the sleepy town of Konagai, Nagasaki Prefecture right on the border of Saga Prefecture there are some unique Nagasaki Bus Stops that will stop you in your tracks and make you say to yourself, "Why haven't I ever seen this before?" As you drive from one bus stop to the next, you will wonder what fruit or vegetable will come next. In some ways, when you don't see your favorite one you wonder why it hasn't been included and of course when you have passed the last one and headed into the next prefecture you will also have a slight feeling of disappointment that you won't see another one again in Japan, period! Location is only for Nagasaki itineraries.
The Shimabara Castle although not the biggest Castle in Japan has a proud history and many interesting artifacts at each of its 5 floors and an amazing 360 degree panoramic view at the top. For those who don`t want to climb, there is always the option to get dressed up as a samurai. This attraction is only for Nagasaki itineraries.
Take a stroll around the Unzen Hell Ponds and feel the power of nature and the nearby Volcano as water boils and sulfur escapes into the atmosphere. This attraction is only for Nagasaki Itineraries.
After a long day touring Nagasaki we have refreshments and beverages (alcoholic and non alcoholic options) whilst soaking our feet in hot volcanic Hot Spring water which will feel like heaven. This attraction is only for Nagasaki Itineraries.
You will witness the horrors of war. This attraction isn't for the faint hearted and isn't everyones cup of tea but nevertheless an important location to learn from our mistakes. This attraction is only for Nagasaki itineraries.
We will see all the main sights to be seen including the Peace Statue, the Epicenter Memorial as well as other interesting and surreal places of interest. This attraction is only for Nagasaki Itineraries.
An incredible view of Nagasaki City, 333 meters above sea level. Rated as one of the world best 3 night views and a great way to identify the geography and topography of this hilly city. This location is only for Nagasaki itineraries.

We had a most excellent tour with Cozy in Nagasaki! We appreciated all the historical information she gave us!! The tour was just right for us. The Glover garden was spectacular. The port there is beautiful and we so appreciated the band that came to say goodbye to the cruise ship!
Hello Carol, You have made a mistake. Unfortunately your guide in Nagasaki wasn't me, I was your guide in Fukuoka. I will send you a link asap so that you can evaluate my performance.
Shannon was the consummate tour guide and host to his Japanese home towns. He has a deep knowledge of the area and took us to not only fascinating sights - driving from Fukuoka to Nagasaki and back in a day (we were ambitious) - but also treated us to some sites that weren't on our itinerary but were absolute treasured experiences (the Takeo City Library - complete with sweet potato vending machine!). And we had the gamut of emotions from the whimsy of the fruit shaped bus stations to the solemnity and reverence of the Nagasaki Museum of Human Rights and Peace. He got to know us. as we did him, and we would absolutely recommend him without reservations. Thank you, Shannon for such an amazing experience!
Hello Jill, I am so appreciative of your amazing review. I am so happy that the small tweaks in the itinerary on the day were so well received. And I must say, thankyou for filling in a few gaps that I had in my memory banks, your information suppled has now been fully memorized. Please tell your family that they are always welcome in Kyushu, hope to meet you all again someday!
Our guide Shannon was simply the best!!! He took us to see amazing places and we even shopped for our own picnic, picking out local foods that we wanted! Had an amazing visit to a sake brewery. Shannon was so knowledgeable about all the places we went!!! We will be back and would most definitely ask for Shannon again!!!
Hello Dawnn, your group of 6 must have been one of the most fun tours that I have done this year. The staff at the Sake Brewery still talk about you and to get a guided tour of the owners garden is something that doesn't happen too often. You made a lasting impression! I am here waiting for your return to Kyushu. Many more adventures to be had!
Wonderful day with Shannon touring Nagasaki. From the beauty of the Spectacle Bridge to the power of Ground Zero. Shannon was very personable and knowledgable and the day just flew by. We stopped for a spontaneous sit down lunch which was delicious (not a tourist spot!) and enjoyed our conversations about life in Japan. Special memory of the day: a footbath with a sake chaser!!
Hello Paula, It was a great day wasn't it! That foot bath enjoyed with Japanese Sake was definitely a highlight. So pleased the lunch exceeded your expectations as well!
The outing was great as the four of us had the chance to experience a wide host of activities and sites in and around Nagasaki. In essence, there was something for each of us, plus a really fine lunch in a local Japanese restaurant. Shannon provided attention to all of our needs throughout the day, so it's easy to say thank you and recommend him to others.
Hello Roger, Thankyou so much for this fabulous review. Your party of 4 was so easy to cater for, you must come back to Japan again and I will show you more highlights of Nagasaki and surrounding areas. Till then, keep traveling!
Day trip to Nagasaki from Fukuoka was customized by Shannon to include historical sites of Sakamoto Ryoma and other desired sites while including the important Nagasaki Memorial Museum with plenty of time.
Hello Janet, we did cover a lot of territory didn't we! I hadn't been to the Ryoma Sakamoto lookout in many years so I am glad you were able to see the Museum and spectacular views of Nagasaki City from one of the highest points. I hope your legs aren't still tired from all those stairs? Please come back and see me again some day!
Shannon was absolutely perfect for us! It rained the whole day, but it was the very best tour we have ever had. Shannon had so much information about Japan and the city. He made it so easy to get out of the car, get an umbrella, walk and talk, then wait here for a few minutes for him to get the car again and hop in and off to the next attraction. We never felt rushed, but we moved along at a good pace to see so much! He was just the best and it was an excellent tour! Sorry to say this, but the fact that Shannon spoke English as his first language made all the difference. It was just so easy to hear him and understand everything he said.
Thankyou so much for this wonderful review Barbara. Yes, the weather was a challenge but your patience and calm demeanor allowed for a highly intimate and throughly captivating day. It would be my absolute pleasure to be your guide again some day, with better weather of course!
We had a great day with Shannon touring Fukuoka. We enjoyed a variety of activities including Nanzoin Temple, Yusenti Park, Tea in the Tea House, a Sake Brewery for tasting and beautiful Ramen for Lunch. All with minimal walking on a very hot day. Shannon was able to drop us off at the entrance and park the car to reduce our walking which we greatly appreciated. He was very knowledgeable about Japan and great fun.
Thankyou for such a wonderful review. We did have a great day didn't we! Hot days like the one we had are difficult at times but your group didn't complain once. I really appreciated your enthusiasm and knowledge about Japan. I just hope that I was able to connect any dots to make Japanese culture and history a little easier the comprehend and understand. I am sure you will return to Japan again someday to further explore.
We loved the natural japan.mixed of rural and urban, especially the food. Everything was good. Will definitely come back
Hello Mary, Thanks for the nice review. It was a great day, glad the rain stayed away and allowed us to see many fantastic natural attractions. Please come back to Kyushu again someday.
We booked a 3 day customized Private tour or Kyushu for our party of 8 friends and family with Shannon and we were not disappointed. He worked with us to put together such an awesome experience that we will never forget. We let him know what places we wanted to visit, dates of our travel, he then put an itinerary together adding so many hidden gems. We were shuttled around comfortably in a spacious van, took us to many off the beaten path locations. The local style lunches and drinks also included were so delicious. His commentary and knowledge of the areas visited made our visit made for everlasting memories. He toured us through Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Takachiho, Kurosawa, Aso, Yufin, and ended in Fukuoka.
Repeat customers like yourself are so easy to accommodate. I already knew your interests and tastes so to design a customized itinerary was the least of my trouble. Please tour with me again, I am waiting anxiously for your return to Japan.
