The Dahshur pyramids were an extremely important learning experience for the Egyptians. It provided them with the knowledge and know-how to transition from step-sided pyramids to smooth-sided pyramids. Ultimately their breadth of experience would allow them to build the Great Pyramid of Giza; the last of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing to this date. The first of the Dahshur pyramids was the Bent Pyramid built under the rule of King Sneferu, the Bent Pyramid was the first attempt at building a smooth sided pyramid, but proved to be an unsuccessful build due to the miscalculations made on the structural weight that was being placed onto the soft ground (sand, gravel, and clay) which had a tendency to subside. Other calculations that were proven to be erroneous were that the blocks being used were cut in such a manner that when placed onto the pyramid their weight was not distributed appropriately, causing the angle of the pyramid to be off and
Memphis مَنْف Manf pronounced Bohairic Coptic: was the ancient capital of Inebu-hedj, the first nome of Lower Egypt. Its ruins are located near the town of Mit Rahina, 20 km (12 mi) south of Giza in Greater Cairo, Egypt. According to legend, as related by Manetho, the city was founded by the Pharaoh Menes. It was the Capital of ancient Egypt during the Old Kingdom and remained an important city throughout ancient Egyptian history. It occupied a strategic position at the mouth of the Nile Delta, and was home to bustling activity. Its principal port, Peru-nefer, featured a high density of workshops, factories, and warehouses that distributed food and merchandise throughout the ancient kingdom. During its golden age, Memphis thrived as a regional centre for commerce, trade, and religion

The pyramid of Unas (Egyptian: Nfr swt Wnjs "Beautiful are the places of Unas") is a smooth-sided pyramid built in the 24th century BC for the Egyptian pharaoh Unas, the ninth and final king of the Fifth Dynasty.[9][a] It is the smallest Old Kingdom pyramid, but significant due to the discovery of Pyramid Texts, spells for the king's afterlife incised into the walls of its subterranean chambers. Inscribed for the first time in Unas's pyramid, the tradition of funerary texts carried on in the pyramids of subsequent rulers, through to the end of the Old Kingdom, and into the Middle Kingdom through the Coffin Texts that form the basis of the Book of the Dead.

Exceptional service and incredibly accommodating! I’ve booked two tours with Emo Tours and found them to be professional from start to finish. We had a wonderful experience on our Saqqara tour; our driver was incredibly pleasant, courteous, and went completely out of his way to make us feel comfortable. On top of that, when we made a last-minute request for a Felucca ride, they arranged a driver and a boat for us within the hour! Highly recommend their services.
The night guide the day before was an unmotivated guide who didn't go inside the hotel and didn't want to say anything in front of the hotel, but the guide on this pyramid tour was half an hour late, but as soon as he entered the lobby he called out to me, allaying my anxiety. The co-minications during the tour are good and I am blessed with good guides.
Guide Sayed Mahmoud and driver Mr. Magdy were both fantastic. On time and exactly as described. Thank you for a fantastic experience.
We had an excellent experience on the Memphis, Saqqara and Dahshur pyramids tour. Sayed and Mahmoud were both fantastic from start to finish. Pickup was smooth and on time and the whole day felt very well organised without feeling rushed. Sayed was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate and explained the history in a way that was easy to follow but still detailed and engaging. You can tell he genuinely cares about what he does. Mahmoud was a great driver and made the journeys between sites really comfortable which makes a big difference on a full day tour. A real highlight was going inside the Bent Pyramid which was awesome and visiting the Tomb of Teti as well. Saqqara and Dahshur felt especially special as they were less crowded than Giza so we could properly take everything in and enjoy it at a more relaxed pace. Overall it was a really enjoyable and well run tour. Would highly recommend Sayed and Mahmoud.
We were picked up promptly at Cairo International Airport Le Meridien Hotel. Kalid was well-informed and professional. Climbing inside The Great Pyramid was a once-in-a-lifetime experience as we traced the steps of ancient Egyptians. The trek wasn't as difficult as some reviewers indicted. It was crowded, but as travelers, we find most of the traveling world wants to go exactly where we also desire to tour! The most unique experience was climbing inside to the top of the Bent Pyramid at Dahshur. We were completely alone in the pyramid--a rare experience in Egypt! We crawled for much of the way to the top of the pyramid with a few head bumps. Spectacular! Such a unique day to explore ancient Egypt.
Had a really great experience with my guide and driver. He was insightful and allowed me take my time. Sayed Mahmoud was my guide.. I’d highly recommend this company to avoid the pandemonium of navigating these sites on your own.
To their credit they were able to take on a last-minute booking (the night before). The guide also didn't take me to any shopping locations, as per my request. Sadly, my guide was a freelance guy who barely gave any useful information. Most annoyingly he repeatedly advised me not to "waste my time" going inside the pyramids, as there was "nothing worth seeing inside". Clearly false if you're interested in history, engineering, architecture, etc., and in any case hardly a difficult trek for a young solo traveller. His attitude towards the mastabas, workers tombs, ruined pyramids etc. carried the same dismissiveness, which created tension between us. If you are a casual tourist who just wants to see cool pyramids and take instagram photos, then it's a great value tour. If you're more of an ancient history buff then I recommend a licensed guide instead.
Absolutely wonderful tour! Omar and Mustafa! Great people! Omar is very knowledgeable about history and speaks very good Spanish! Very friendly and with a very friendly character. It has made us feel at home! Thank you for such wonderful walk through Memphis, Saqqara, red pyramid etc, delicious lunch! The bread of the restaurant was delicious and its music band extraordinary! Thanks to Egypt and its people, its wonderful culture, its food, its music and the good treatment! Omar and Mustafa have offered us a 7 star deal. Thank you. A highly recommended tour! If you can ask for Omar as a guide and Mustafa as a driver! 👌😊👏👍
Mr Said was my driver to Saqqara. He is also a very knowledgeable and wonderful person and I felt very comfortable with him as my driver. He was very punctual as well and made sure I had everything I needed and also gave me a lot of information about the Saqqara and Memphis tour. I would request to have him as my driver again!
The tour is great. We caught it after study, as it is the most complete. We came with an agency, but they only went to the pyramids. So we gave that up and fucked all day around here, since they have Saqqara and Darshur and Menphis. I highly recommend Darshur because there are very nice pyramids and few people (there are not many trips that include Darshur). We have been very happy with the guide we have received. A girl (Manhar, or something) super friendly who also speaks perfect Spanish. We told him that we didn’t want to go to the shops (they take you to a papyrus, etc.), and he didn’t put up any impediments. She's lovely. It was one of the best excursions we did in Egypt. The driver, also super good, punctual.
