“We Could Steal Time, Just For One Day…”

Our tour guide, Grant Gutteridge, was tremendously knowledgeable about David Bowie, both the artist’s long and storied career, as well as his early years as David Robert Hayward Jones. Along the way, Grant shared anecdotes about several other luminaries of the British rock and roll scene, and their unique relationship to London. Grant is also quite kind. And was very respectful of the residential neighborhoods that we sometimes traveled to while following the Thin White Duke’s footsteps. I learned a lot about my favorite musician, met some lovely people (Bowie fans as a general rule are friendly and accepting folks), and got to see some parts of London that were new to me as a tourist. Our tour primarily focused on the neighborhoods of Brixton and Soho, which are fun places to explore in their own right and even more fun with the added context of learning about Bowie’s history with them. I really enjoyed this tour. If I had more time in the city, I would happily book one of the other ones that Grant offers—such as his Led Zeppelin tour. I honestly can’t recommend this tour enough. It was one of the major highlights of a pretty amazing trip to what is probably my favorite city in the world. Thanks again!

Grant's Bowie Tour

Grant is the best walk and talk tour guide I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He has a lovely nature, incredibly passionate about music and Bowie in particular, and is full of interesting facts. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and have no hesitation in recommending Grant to others.

The tour led by Grant was...

The tour led by Grant was exceptional. We were lucky enough to be the only ones that day and thus we were able to have a great one on one conversation. Grant was very knowledgeable even beyond the topic of Bowie and would manage to impress even the biggest Bowie fan. In addition he gave some great suggestions on what to see and do in London. He's very happy to discuss and answer questions about rock history and culture. I would recommend everyone to do this tour especially during the first few days in London.

Thoroughly entertaining tour... even if you aren't a mad Bowie fan

We booked this tour through Get Your Guide for a trip out with friends who love Bowie. It was excellent. Grant, our guide, had carefully picked locations that mark key points in Bowie's life, and his friendships and collaborations with other artists of his time. Our friends already knew a great deal about Bowie, so there was plenty to chat about, and they learnt a lot of new things too. Grant is full of interesting stories and amusing anecdotes. The tour was as described in the booking details and ran to time. Thanks for a brilliant tour, Grant! Highly recommend.

Must have for Bowie fans

We had a great, entertaining and very informative tour of the hotspots that brought us closer to David Bowie. Our tour guide Grant was just fantastic 🤩 He had an in-depth knowledge of this exceptional artist and conveyed that very well. It's obvious that he's a huge fan. You could understand him very well, he responded well to the individual participants and it was just fun to walk with him through Brixton and Soho. For every Bowie fan (or even non-fans/music lovers) absolutely RECOMMENDED!!! Always happy 💜

David Bowie walking tour

Myself and friends treated another friend to this tour for a birthday present. It was the birthday girl who is a lifelong Bowie fan and the rest of us weren't sure what to expect. What a great afternoon we all had! The tour is well planned out but it is Grant who makes it. He is warm, engaging and such a mine of information about Bowie and the music scene generally over the eras. The birthday girl says: 'Grant was great, very passionate about Bowie which I loved. And very knowledgeable. I felt he really appreciated my enthusiasm for Bowie. It was very generous of him to forward on so many links afterwards. Will strongly recommend to other Bowie fans. A memorable day for me very special.' We all felt it was an excellent tour and great value for money. Highly recommend. Thanks Grant!

Fabulous David Bowie walking tour

Fabulous time reminiscing about David Bowie, seeing important locations in his life. It was a joy to be in the company of Grant, the guide. There is a walk around Brixton and then you take the underground to Soho. Highly recommended .
