This was our favourite of the three tours we did from Port Douglas. The sights we saw were spectacular and our driver/guide, Daniel, was extremely knowledgeable, organised and had a great sense of humour. The day went very smoothly and included lots of stops to eat and drink along the way. The star attraction was, of course, the beautiful scenery and interesting wildlife. We even caught a glimpse of a cassowary! What a day!
An early start but 2 main pick up points in Cairns and Port Douglas ensured a full bus for a very full day. An amazing introduction to the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, with lots of interesting facts about the area and amusing anecdotes delivered so professionally by our wonderful driver and guide Daniel. The trip includes a walk through the Gorge and river boat trip and we were even lucky enough to spot 3 crocodiles! A tea/coffee and massive scone!! stop broke up the morning and excellent lunch plus wonderful ice creams made locally were all included in the price. A truly memorable day and enjoyable day, thank you Daniel for looking after us so thoughtfully and providing such a great commentary throughout.
Daniel’s knowledge and story telling doubled the fun making the day full of wonder, describing the history of the rainforest from the time of the dinosaurs to the adventures of Captain Cook.
A rich and varied day, punctuated by four highlights: a short hike in the heart of the primary forest, an excursion on the river in search of crocodiles, a walk at Cape Tribulation to explore the famous area that caused so many problems for Captain Cook, as well as several other discoveries of the region. Our guide, particularly dynamic and passionate, knew how to convey his energy throughout the day, even if the pace was sometimes a bit intense. The various tasting breaks were well organized, although relatively quick. In summary, this excursion is an excellent option to efficiently discover the must-sees of the region while letting yourself be guided, without having to worry about the organization. A less intense pace would be a plus.
We spent a good day in the company of Lindsay departing from Port Douglas. He is nice and very punctual. The excursion was very interesting and well-paced.
Wonderful experience, excellent guide Daniel, punctual, professional, and very knowledgeable. Spectacular nature, not to be missed.
Daniel is extraordinary! Great guide - knowledgeable and funny!
Amazing trip, seen lot of place,Love the food Great boat ride learn lot of things look forward to revisit again
We booked this tour through TripAdvisor and got a confirmation email from Down Under a few days prior with the exact pick up location etc. However at actual pick up time the guide told us that he did not have us on his list and had empty seats on the tour. He kept trying to tell us that we must be with a different tour until i showed him the actual email. So basically these guys double booked and left us out. The guide called his office and they confirmed our booking but couldnt do anything about it since they had double booked. They offered us a refund. This was infuriating. The refund was no good to us. It was the only day we could have done the tour. So 0 stars for Down Under for messing up our booking. Luckily there was another tour company there to pick up their people, and they were able to accommodate us, they really saved the day. Down under needs to make sure this never happens again.
I chose Down Under Tours as it covered a lot for what you are paying for. Which is what you want when you are paying for a tour to see as much as you can for the time that you have. This is my second time doing this exact tour. The first time I did this exact tour everything flowed beautifully & we were NOT rushed to go from one spot to the other. It enticed me to want to do this tour again. This time that I did this exact tour (21.07.2026) I liked the locations we went to but couldn't enjoy the flow as our tour guide was making a point at every stop that we had to be back by a certain time. Our tour guide was informative explained everything but when you are PAYING for a tour you don't tell us to hurry up. That particular day it started to rain at the very end of our tour. As our tour guide was in a hurry instead of leaving us Infront of our hotel,we were left across the road of our hotel. I don't have a problem in walking across the road but NOT when it is raining & you have to walk in the rain to your hotel. Overall the tour was nice & the locations we went to were worth visiting.
