Have you ever wondered about the difference between Being a Traveler or a tourist? During this tour, I am going to make you experience Cairo as a traveler and a local. Move away from commercial and expensive tours to explore the real Cairo. We will cycle through the streets, uncover hidden gems, and see important landmarks. The value of cycling inside the city means you can discover every single detail of the town, enjoy historical discussions, and get closer to the life of locals. If you want to see Cairo from a different view, it’s your chance to join me! The price includes renting bikes, helmets,s, and breakfast You can also ask about mountain biking in the Wadi Degla protectorate (intermediate-level MTB is mandatory for your safety) Mostly I prefer to do the tour in the early morning on weekend days which are Fridays and Saturdays (Egyptian weekends) when it isn't crowded. but you can ask before booking to arrange it during weekdays ;)

This experience is truly unique. Tarek is a very accomodating and knowledgeable guide, he ensures that i am comfortable throughout the activity. I do think that he is a sensible person as well. Through cycling around downtown i guarantee that you will be immersed in the city and also the vibe of it. Bonus point is that you will receive a certficate upon completion, which then gives you bragging rights! Well done to Tarek and keep up the great work :-)
We took a taxi from Giza and waited at the advertised meeting point, 20 Gezira Street for over 30min. No one came along and no one contacted us.

I joined this cycling tour during my stay in cairo and it was truly one of the highlights of the trip. Tarek was friendly and adapted the route for us. The bikes were in great condition too!
A wonderful way to discover the city of Cairo ! The ride is so nice and allowed us to see areas that we would have never crossed otherwise . And the guide Tarek is fantastic ! We had an amazing time with him taking us around the city and experiencing local breakfast. Highly recommend!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had a spare day in Cairo and wanted to do some exercise whilst also being able to see the streets and get to places I wouldn’t normally go to. Tarek was lovely and helpful from the start - good communication, clear directions as to where and when to meet, and good explanations as to why one particular suburb was better for riding that day rather than downtown. The bike was good quality and importantly the brakes and gears worked, and helmet fitted! Tarek led the way through the chaos of Cairo’s traffic and we spend a lovely 90 mins cycling through suburbs, busy and quieter streets, just seeing the city come to life on a normal working day, kids being dropped at school etc. I enjoyed chatting with Tarek as we rode, learning more about Egyptian life and culture; as well as about Tarek’s “other job” in humanitarian work. A really fun experience finished by the best coffee I have had in Cairo! My only other comment would be that this trip is not for the faint hearted! Cairo’s traffic is notorious and for someone from Australia, the traffic here is quite chaotic and sometimes scary! I just trusted Tarek to weave us through the mayhem which he did superbly well but there were times when i felt cars may not be stopping! The other thing to note - this is not a guided tour where you have a running commentary of history or stop all along the way at sights….it is more a good cycle, good exercise and a way of asking questions, chatting, and seeing day to day normal Cairo life. For me, exactly what I wanted and a wonderful morning!

You happened to join on the first day of school, so Cairo’s streets were even busier than usual! 🚗😅 As you mentioned, the weekday tours in Maadi are more about the cycling experience itself — seeing everyday life unfold and staying active. On weekends, when traffic is lighter, we explore downtown Cairo with more sightseeing stops and time to discuss the history and hidden stories of the city. A great way to see the streets of Cairo on a bike while being safely guided by Tarek. I did this on my first morning in Cairo and it allowed be to get a feel for the city and explore areas i would not have found on foot. Would definitely recommend this experience!
