Itinerary

45 min

Shahpur Jat was once a part of the city of Siri, one of the ancient capitals of Delhi. The ruins of the old city are still visible here. About 700 years ago, the Panwar Gotra Jats from Madhya Pradesh were drawn to the fertile lands of Shahpur Jat. While the farming lands have now given way to fashion boutiques, the Jat community still resides here.If you’ve ever needed to shop for a wedding, you’ve heard of Delhi Shahpur Jat fashion street. If you haven’t, well, you should! It’s meant for those of us who don’t want the heavy price tag of A-list designers, but also don’t want the generic Indian wear that most smaller markets sell. There’s something for EVERYONE at Delhi Shahpur Jat Fashion Street, no jokes. But that also means there’s wayyy too much to explore.

30 min

Dariban Kalan justifies it’s meaning as the “Street of Incomparable Pearls”. It is a 17th century street in Chandni Chowk of the Old Delhi or Shahjahanabad. It connects Chandni Chowk to Jama Masjid. It is a historical market popular for precious stones and gold & silver jewelry. The street witnessed the bloody massacre of Delhi in March 1739, ordered by the Persian invader Nadir Shah, when hundreds of innocent civilians and soldiers were killed and the gold shops were looted.

30 min

Kinari Bazaar is a wholesale market. Here you will get every thing you need for function/party especially for marriage. Great variety and collection of borders and embellishments can be found here at very low price. Buy any embroidery items like lace, thread work, embellishment, borders, stonework, gold/silver work and garlands. Here you can find best embroidery art from across India

45 min

Chandni Chowk has something to offer for everyone. Chandni Chowk's speciality is its variety and authenticity: food, delicacies and sweets of more than 1,000 kinds, sarees with chikan and zari. Narrow lanes host shops that sell books, clothing, electronic, consumer goods, shoes and leather goods. It is the location of the original Haldiram’s and brands such as Gianis. A particular local delicacy are the jalebis, which are fried in desi ghee(clarified butter). The Cloth Market, supplies home furnishing fabrics, including ready-made items as well as design services. Nai Sarak is the wholesale market of stationery, books, paper and decorative materials. Lal Kuan is a wholesale market for hardware and hotel kitchen equipment. It is adjacent to Tilak Market which is a wholesale market for industrial chemicals. Located at the western end of Chandni Chowk, Khari Baoli is a street entirely dedicated to all kinds of spices, dried fruits, nuts, and herbs. Dariba is the market for silver and gold jewelry. This market also offers trophies, shields, mementos and related items.

30 min

Khari Baoli is a street in Delhi, India known for its wholesale grocery and Asia's largest wholesale spice market selling all kinds of spices, nuts, herbs and food products like rice and tea. You can take a demo class to understand about the various Indian Spices and can pick few to gift or for your kitchen.

30 min

INA is an Open Craft Bazaar & Textile Market located in Delhi, Unlike the traditional weekly market, the INA Market is permanent. It is located in the commercial center of South Delhi

Best Market and Shopping Tour!

I had an absolutely wonderful day with Farheen and Aman! As a solo female traveller, I was able to discover the colourful world of Delhi with their help. I felt safe and well cared for, they are both so easy to talk to and accomodating. We visited numerous shops and vibrant markets. I saw many sites along the way which they were able to provide a history on with their in-depth knowledge of the rich Indian history and culture. We travelled on rickshaws through some of the markets and Farheen helped me barter at the markets for some great deals. I was immersed in authentic shopping experience with the locals of Delhi. We also stopped for a snack and a local and famous street corner. Transport to and from the hotel was a breeze in a lovely air conditioned vehicle. I booked the trip same day about an hour before pick up. I’m so glad I decided to go on this wonderful tour and I will be recommending them to any friends and family who may travel to Delhi. Thank you Farheen and Aman!!

Must do shopping tour customized to your needs!

Farheen and Sahil were a fabulous team! Farheen took me only to the places I requested. She bargained for me to get very good prices. I found custom made suits and beautiful jewelry at amazing prices. You can find things of all prices. I also fed a monkey on the way. We visited New Delhi and Old Delhi. We even had time for a tuk tuk ride! 100 percent customized to what I wanted to see and do. And the driver was always on time and he taught me a lot about the history and culture as we drove around.

Amazing experience

Farheen, and Adeel where the best guides with amazing shopping expertise, we went in an air conditioned car with plenty of stops, New Delhi and old, Farheen helped so much with getting us amazing prices and the best quality of items. Adeel was the best historian giving us a history lesson while driving!!! Could not ask for better company and guides. My daughter’s 18th birthday was today and they surprised my girl with a cake and even sang happy birthday!!!! We felt safe the whole time. I would recommend them to anyone coming to India as they are the best!

First class experience

To experience the authenticity of Delhi, the vibrancy of the shopping experience book with Farheen What an amazing lady we had an extensive shopping list from tailor made clothes to spices and teas and everything in between Farheen took us to the most amazing tailors who were so gracious, kind and their quality of work is first class. I had a sari made especially for my trip to the Taj Mahal, Farheen made sure I had the best service and quality and price. This was an experience I will never forget I am planning on returning to India in two years and I will definitely be booking Farheen for a few days. Oh yes I forgot to mention I completed my shipping list and more!!!! The service is first class I absolutely loved this day with Farheen. I wouldn’t go shopping without Farheen. She truly is India’s precious gem.

Operator response

Dear Kirsten, What a beautiful review!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Reading your words genuinely brought smiles to our entire team, and we have made sure Farheen knows just how fondly you've spoken of her. She will be absolutely thrilled! It was such a joy to hear that your extensive shopping list, from tailor-made clothes to spices and teas was not only completed but exceeded! That is exactly the kind of experience we set out to create for every single guest. Knowing that you found the tailors gracious, kind, and first-class in their craft means we are delivering on our promise to connect our guests with the very best that Delhi has to offer. And a sari made especially for the Taj Mahal, WOW we can only imagine how magical that must have looked against one of the most breath taking backdrops in the world. What a memory to carry forever! Farheen truly pours her heart into every tour, and your words, calling her "India's precious gem" could not be more deserved. She is everything we stand for: warmth, expertise, dedication, and an unmatched love for sharing the very best of her city with the world. We are so excited to hear that you are already planning your return in two years as we will be counting down right alongside you! Farheen will be ready and waiting to make your next visit even more unforgettable. Until then, we hope your sari brings back the most wonderful memories every time you wear it. With warmth and gratitude, Alish

What I wish I had known...

This shopping excursion was our first full day in India, as many people in the reviews suggested. We felt safe and comfortable the whole day with Farheen - the car had good A/C, there was bottled water for us, she helped find and use an ATM, coordinated a tuk tuk ride. All in all it was a good experience, but there are things I wish I'd known as an American shopping for the first time in India: 1. They are NOT getting you "the best deal." Do your own research on how to negotiate in India i.e., start by asking for 50% of the price they give you. She "negotiated" 15% and sometimes almost none at all. In speaking to my friend who's wedding we were attending, we paid 3-4x as much for clothes and art, even in the more expensive Delhi. In the states, negotiating can feel like your risking your safely- but it is always expected in India and not considered rude at all. 2. High price does not equal high quality, so inspect items closely. Farheen messaged me ahead of time to ask what we were shopping for. I told her I wanted to get a $100ish lehenga and she responded to be flexible there are a range of prices based on material and quality. Once I wore my $200 USD lehenga to the wedding and I saw what other women were wearing, I was embarrassed by my skirt, which was falling apart on first wear vs their gorgeous, chic, quality pieces. (For more context, the bride said her lehenga, which was exquisite, was ~$250 USD.) 3. They are likely getting kick back. I instantly recognized the places we went from others reviews' photos. The clothes location is Heritage Mall and the rug location with demonstration is Delhi Market (you can check our reviews of these places online yourself). The shoe and jewelry shops in Chandni Chowk were in others' photos as well. Again, this is fine, it just might suggest that you need to do more of your own negotiating. All in all, I'm going to consider the extra price I paid as a "tourist tax." Getting a silk rug in the states will cost you >$1,000, but would cost someone in India ~$100. Somewhere in the middle is a-okay with me, especially getting free shipping (except for a $35 US import duty that no one mentioned), free tailoring, delivery to hotel, etc. that you would never get at home, even if it's a given in India. We got a lot of items we love but likely over paid by hundreds.

Operator response

Dear Laura, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review as we truly appreciate your honesty, and we're glad you felt safe and comfortable throughout your day with Farheen. Making our guests feel at ease, especially on their very first day in India, is something we take great pride in. We're delighted that the little touches like the chilled water, the A/C, the tuk-tuk ride, and the ATM assistance made your experience smoother. These are the things we quietly make sure are in place so our guests can focus on enjoying India rather than worrying about logistics. That said, we want to address your feedback with full sincerity because you deserve that. On negotiation: We appreciate you raising this, and we'd like to offer some important context. A 15–20% discount is, in fact, considered a strong and fair deal, not just in India, but by global retail and wholesale standards. The popular notion of haggling down to 50% of the asking price is, unfortunately, a myth in most established markets. Reputable shops in Delhi price their goods fairly to begin with, and expecting a 50% reduction would either mean the original price was grossly inflated or the quality of the product is being compromised. Our goal has always been to get our guests a genuinely fair price and not just the appearance of a dramatic discount. That said, we absolutely encourage our guests to engage in the experience of bargaining themselves, and we will make sure to set clearer expectations upfront about how pricing works in India's quality markets. On the lehenga: We are deeply sorry to hear about your experience, and we want to be straightforward and this is something we take very seriously. No guest should ever feel embarrassed at a wedding, least of all one they have travelled across the world to attend. Farheen did communicate ahead of your visit that quality and price vary considerably, and a $200 lehenga, while a meaningful investment, sits at the entry-to-mid range for wedding occasion wear, its a range where fabric and finish can vary significantly. We wish our consultant had been more assertive in guiding you toward a piece that truly matched the occasion. This is a gap we are committed to addressing with our team, and we are genuinely sorry it affected such a special day for you. On store selection and kickbacks: We want to address this directly and clearly because we do not work on kickbacks. Our reputation, built over years of guest trust, is far more valuable to us than any commission from a vendor. We work with a carefully selected group of established vendors because they offer our guests consistency, reliability, quality assurance, free tailoring, hotel delivery, and after-sales support, such services that have real, tangible value. These are not random shops; they are partners we have vetted so our guests are not walking into unknown territory. That said, your point about transparency is fair, and we will be more upfront with future guests about how our vendor network works and why. We hope that despite a few disappointments, the pieces you brought home carry a little of India's warmth and colour with them, and that the silk rug finds a beautiful corner at home! We would genuinely welcome the opportunity to show you a better experience should you ever return to India. With warm regards and gratitude, Alish
