This exclusive activity is designed specifically for cruise passengers docking in Ponta Delgada. Your experience begins with a visit to the Santo António Pineapple Plantation, where you can explore the greenhouses, learn about the traditional cultivation process, and enjoy a tasting of fresh pineapple and local pineapple liqueur — a unique way to discover one of the island’s sweetest traditions. Next, embark on a scenic drive through the picturesque Sete Cidades volcano, enjoying breathtaking views of São Miguel’s lush landscapes on your way to the Vista do Rei viewpoint. At the iconic Sete Cidades viewpoint, you’ll be amazed by the dramatic contrast between the Blue and Green Lakes, nestled within a dormant volcanic crater — a truly mesmerizing view and perfect photo opportunity. We will then make a stop in the village center of Sete Cidades, allowing time to visit the Neo-Gothic São Nicolau Church and experience the charm of this historic community. Before returning to Ponta Delgada, the tour includes a stop at the Miradouro do Escalvado, offering spectacular views over the Ilhéus dos Mosteiros and the village of Mosteiros, beautifully situated on a lava-fan coastline. This is the perfect spot to capture the final breathtaking photos of the day. At the end of the tour, we will ensure you are returned to your cruise ship on time, your heart full of memories of São Miguel’s incredible landscapes.

Discover the only pineapple plantation planted in glass greenhouses and learn about the cultivation process.
Considered as one of the seven wonders of Portugal, this is a viewpoint where the most famous lakes of the Azores can be admired. The blue and green lake, are without a doubt a unique and magical sight.
Inside the Sete Cidades volcano you will have the opportunity to explore the the parish, visit the São Nicolau church or stroll along the blue lagoon's edge.
Viewpoint at altitude above the coast from where you can admire the huge cliffs and the black rocks of the Mosteiros islets. This will be the last point before returning to Ponta Delgada.
The return to the starting point takes around 30 minutes and travellers can choose their drop-off location: back to the cruise terminal or city center.

Was disappointed as we didn’t get to taste the pineapple or the liquor!
The island is beautiful. Your guide was well versed in the happenings on the island and lifestyle. With that being said, he knew the best places to stop for optimal views of this beautiful place. The tour gave us a good overview of the island and ended at the pineapple “plantation”. The only negative is he went on a tangent about how expensive things are and how tough life can be there. That is everywhere right now and not a highlight of the tour.
We were on a cruise and were asked to meet the tour provider at the terminal. Our tickets stated that we should be there for 9am start. There were 8 of us on a small group tour. We waited in the cruise terminal. The last couple turned up just before 9am and the tour provider said she’d have to cut the tour short as we should have been there for 8.30am. We therefore had to miss the pineapple plantation because she said we had to get back 2 hours before the ship departed. We did however get to see the lakes in the sunshine and were blessed with a rainbow which was the icing on the cake. I would recommend this trip but can I suggest you liaise with cruise travellers the night beforehand and change the time accordingly so they receive the 4 full hours they have paid for.
