You can park in the main lot and take the free shuttle around and to the museum. Entrance was $22 for Srs (I believe). There were many interesting displays. We went on a rainey day. It was better than I was expecting. The place is quite big. There is a large souvenir shop and a Cafe. They also do demonstrations.
This was supposed to be the highlight of a trip to upstate NY. We were looking forward to the make your our glass; glass blowing. It was $38 pp + $25 shipping, and we were 4 people. After being instructed to be on time, and then waited another half an hour, finally we picked out the design and color, it was just stand there and watch. Our participation was just to blow air into the molten glass. It was a disappointment. We could have bought glass ornaments in the "overblown" gift shop for much less.
The museum was a very interesting and informative way to spend a Saturday afternoon. From watching expert craftsmanship in creating items from molten glass, to the exhibits outlining the history of Corning, to the evolution of glass itself. Then the exhibits of glass craftsmanship and artistic expression on display was inspirational and profound.
Thank you for visiting and taking the time to leave a fantastic review! We're so glad you enjoyed your time here at the Museum and were able to try your hand at making glass. There's so much to see and learn about here, so it's exciting that you had the opportunity to learn more about the history of Corning. Hopefully we can welcome you back again soon!
Great demonstrations and displays of glass used in numerous applications. Definitely enjoyed our visit.
We spent almost the entire day at the museum and didn’t quite get to see it all. Your ticket does allow for admission the next day but that was just not in our schedule. We found it to be beautiful and interesting and also learned a lot. We were able to watch two demonstrations of glass blowing and the artists are very talented and skilled. The gift shop was excellent. The cafe also had a wide variety and was reasonably priced. We would highly recommend a visit to anyone interested in the history of glass and its art form.
Thank you for recommending our Museum to others! We're so glad you enjoyed your visit and were able to get the most out of your experience. We hope to welcome you back again soon.
I loved it. The teenagers in our family tolerated it. Definitely a must do stop for adults
Thank you for visiting the Museum! We're so glad you enjoyed your visit. We hope to welcome you and your family back again soon for another memorable visit, and something fun to do for all ages!
We started our day in the glass studio. We each made a glass project. It was fun , the instructors were great. We then toured the museum. And did the 4 demonstrations. We enjoyed each. We ate lunch in the cafe. It was a disappointment, pricey not so good. We spent 5 hours there.
I had travelled from UK to visit and was glad I had - well worth the effort.
Thank you for making the journey from the UK to visit us! We're honored that we were part of your travels and thrilled to hear the experience was well worth the trip. It's wonderful to know you enjoyed exploring the museum and discovering the wide variety of glass artwork and unique items in the Shop. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back whenever your travels bring you our way again.
Very well done. The help at the museum were very helpful and educated
Thank you for visiting the Museum!
At first glance, the museum seems small with only 2 floors, but the history of glass section is extensive and has a lot to see. The top floor has things like telescopes glass and there are 2 demos of glass blowing and flame blowing. There is a large gift shop on the first floor with expensive items but there is a sale section with reasonable pieces. I spent 2 1/2 hours there. Parking is free. We felt it was worthwhile.
Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re so glad you found the history of glass galleries interesting and were able to spend time exploring the depth of the collection. It’s great to hear you enjoyed the live demonstrations as well—they’re a favorite for many of our guests. We’re also happy you found some time to browse the Shop and take advantage of a few finds! We appreciate you highlighting the experience and are so glad your visit felt worthwhile. We hope to welcome you back again soon!
