Copenhagen Private Food Walking Tour with 6 or 10 Tastings

Monica gave an overview of Copenhagen neighborhoods and restaurant options that made our entire trip to Copenhagen better. She is energetic and full of deep knowledge of the food scene and the dynamics of changing tastes among the Danish people. Highly recommended. Even if you don't think you will like the hot dog you have to try it. You will be surprised how good the "classic" version is! Nothing like what we consider a hot dog in the US.

If you’re looking for a pleasant opportunity to get a taste of traditional Danish food while also exploring parts of the city, this is a wonderful tour. While some courses are fairly large, there’s no pressure to finish every one. Christel was a wonderful and gracious host who shared many cultural insights as we toured the various food stops. Really fun experience!

The tour was informative and our guide was kind and friendly, however, I would have expected more tasting options for the price. We started with a pastry, had a traditional food truck hot dog and then walked to the market to sample smorrebrod sandwiches (mushroom and egg salad were what was given to us) from the same location. We were offered a small beer pour or kombucha to accompany the smorrebrod and were given a few chocolates/candy to take home. All in all we only had three food stops and felt like our guide left pretty quickly. The two choices of smorrebrod she brought us seemed nontraditional and we would have preferred more traditional flavors. The tour felt a bit rushed and we did not experience the number of tastings we thought we booked and paid for. This experience seemed less about food and more about information regarding Copenhagen.

Claudio provided a wonderful exploration of Copenhagen sharing cultural and historical insights whilst eating beautiful food and some drinks. The passion Claudio has for food and the city made the tour so enjoyable!

Wow!!! This was a phenomenal food experience with Christel. She specializes in traditional Danish cuisine experiences and provides either full size or half size portions of the food. We had the 10 item food experience and were totally stuffed by the end and needed a walk to feel comfortable again. Christel asked us about our favourite meal, and we couldn’t decide between the open faced sandwiches, traditional organic hot dogs, monster Danish oysters, roasted pork on a bun, meatballs, strawberries, pastries and chocolates. But finally we decided on the roasted pork half sandwich with tasty roasted crackling skin and Danish bacon. We learned a lot about Danish cuisine and culture and had wonderful conversations. She met us at the prescribed meeting point, but had earlier sent us a text to meet at a more convenient location for both of us. We were using a European sim card and unfortunately, through no fault of hers, she did not have our correct European number. Once we got back to the ship, we found her message on my wife’s ipad. We wanted to get back to our shuttle bus by 2 pm and she got us there precisely at 2 as we requested. Christel paid attention to details and asked us about our food preferences at the start of the tour and changed her choices on the fly based on them and local availability. The in-season strawberries were a special treat! If you have an opportunity to tour with Christel, we’re sure that you have a wonderful time.

We just got home from visiting Copenhagen. My husband and I went on a 10 food tasting tour with Claudio and were not disappointed! Everything we tried was delicious and Claudio's love for food and history of Copenhagen were both prevalent. Claudio had a way of describing each item that definitely made you want to try it. We liked several of the items, so that night after the tour we went back to the Food Hall and tried more of the items for a late dinner. Also, bought the Amber chocolate to take home. Yum! We would definitely recommend Claudio as your food guide for Copenhagen. He loves food!

Claudio was a fantastic tour guide. He wove together the history culture and culinary facts of the foods of Denmark together so well. We sampled open face sandwiches, danishes, meatballs, hot dogs and sweet treats throughout Copenhagen. It was the highlight of our visit here.
