Itinerary
The experience will kick off at Toldboden, one of Copenhagen’s most charming upcoming areas, where you have the option to get a cup of coffee on your own expense (just remember to get to the meeting point 10 minutes before the meeting time). From here, we’ll take you through some of the older parts of Copenhagen’s historical city centre through some of the Copenhagen’s most famous and important sites.
This will take us a little bit further out for an amazing view, where you’ll also be able to take in some of Copenhagen’s magical fairy-tale dust as you say hi to The Little Mermaid and hear why everything is not at all what it seems with her.
Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a stunning outside view of the Game of Thrones-worthy Citadel and while you’re taking it all in your guide will enthrall you with tales about Copenhagen and Denmark’s rise and demise throughout its more than 1000 year long history
As we see the Gefion Fountain and the Churchillpark, we will also see a church that is very different to others in Copenhagen for a very specific reason.
As we see the Gefion Fountain, we’ll be viewing the park that commemorate the heroes of the 2nd World War.
The first stop will be at the Gefion fountain that show where Copenhagen, or at least the land where its located, is said to have originated (hint: It’s something we Danes consider a very dark place!).
With our magical fairy-tale dust levels at a maximum, we’ll be getting to the real-life fairy tale of the Danish royalty. Hear secret insider stories about the Royal Guards and awe-inspiring tales about the royals at Amalienborg — the Royal Palace — that only those who have been in the guard know about. Here you’ll even get to play a little game about where the current head of the royal family, Daisy, live.
From Amalienborg, you'll also be blessed with views of Copenhagen's majestic Marble Church perfectly aligned with the Royal Palace. You gotta see what many locals consider the most beautiful church in Copenhagen!
As we wander out of the garden, we'll be greeted the majestic Copenhagen Opera House on the other side of the harbor.
As we walk toward the beautiful harbor of Nyhavn, we will walk on the beautiful front of The Royal Actor's house with spectacular views.
As we exit, we'll be greeted by a cute green garden on the side of the canals. Your guide will of course take you through this gem of a green haven and help you understand why Copenhageners weren't that happy with these awesome places initially!
Next, we’ll be walking through the picturesque harbor canal New Harbor (or Nyhavn as we call it in Copenhagen), where we’ll be taking in the view from a special point of view that for sure will make all your social media followers or your friends or family back home jealous. Please don’t hesitate to ask your guide in assisting capturing that picture-perfect image of this iconic image from this good-looking city, while you get to hear about the harbors colorful and somewhat charming history.
With an appetite for more, you’ll head across one of Copenhagen’s most famous and most historical squares with views of the first shopping mall in Denmark, the most historical hotel in Denmark and the Royal theatre that is just magnificent to look at.
As we navigate small cute streets, prepare yourself for stretching your neck all the way back to admire the spire of one of Copenhagen’s oldest churches.
As we enter Højbro Plads you will have a splendid view of Christiansborg Palace, which today house the Danish parliament, and here you will hear about Danish politics and welfare. This is also where the tour ends and your guide would gladly answer any questions for recommendations.

Weather was good, though it threatened rain. Guide was knowledgeable with facts, lacking humor however. Very textbook-like. Would have loved to hear unusual or off beat tales.
Good overview tour. Just the right amount of information. Copenhagen highlights by friendly, local guide.
Kenneth was amazing! Great info, humor, guidance and great pace. Loved it! I’d ask for Kenneth in possible.
Very thorough and detailed tour. We Really enjoyed the extras our guide shared about life in Denmark.
The Copenhagen Highlights: Small Group Walking Tour was a fantastic way to explore the city's history and culture. With a small group of no more than 10 people, the experience felt personal and engaging. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and shared interesting stories that brought Copenhagen's landmarks to life. The walking pace was comfortable, and there was plenty of time to ask questions and take photos. It was an excellent introduction to the city, and I would highly recommend this tour to first-time visitors looking for an informative and enjoyable experience.
The tour was great value. Liva, our guide, was a lot of fun and had a wicked sense of humour. Gave us a good insight into the history of Copenhagen, with some juicy background details, and was forthright about both the good and bad aspects of life in Denmark over the Centuries as well as currently. Would highly recommend, and if you can get Liva, you are in for a fun time with plenty of laughs. Just one thing about the meeting place. Tour company needs to advise that it is a Statue you are looking for. We spent time looking for what sounded like a Department store! ( as did others on our tour. )
Amit was a fabulous guide. His mix of history, culture and life in Copenhagen was a great introduction to our visit to this city. We are so fortunate to have such a great guide
This was a quick hit of many of Copenhagen sites. And our guide Liva was a dream. History, politics, comedy and great recommendations.
