Join our small-group Greek Cooking Experience (maximum 12 participants) and discover Greek cuisine the local way—by shopping, cooking, and sharing a meal in the heart of Athens. With your facilitator, you’ll visit the Central Market of Athens, selecting fresh ingredients like locals do, followed by a pleasant 15-minute walk through the historic old town. The cooking takes place in a traditional neighborhood taverna, a real, lively restaurant where Athenians gather daily. This is not a private studio, but an authentic setting filled with the sounds, aromas, and energy of everyday city life. Guided by a professional Greek cook, you’ll learn how to prepare classic, home-style dishes. After cooking, sit back and enjoy what you’ve made together: traditional appetizers, salads, and main courses such as tzatziki, dolmadakia, Greek salad, stuffed peppers and tomatoes, and a sweet finish with chocolate salami—all enjoyed in a cozy taverna in Athens’ historic center.

Very fun afternoon. Anastasia was a great guide through the central food market and was so helpful! She even helped me find a little shoe store I’d seen. Really went out of her way! But back to the class … it was a great introduction to some of the classic Greek cooking techniques and a fun way to learn more about the culture.

Had such a wonderful time. Angela was great, giving us tips for places to visit on our stay and giving us a little insight on the history of everything we walked past. The class itself was great with great tips and tricks for everything including choosing the ingredients for each dish. Absolutely worth it and would absolutely recommend!

A truly fantastic experience from beginning to end! Anastasia was our tour guide, our translator and by the end of our class our friend! The chef was well prepared, generous and thoughtful! I have been to many cooking classes from Paris to Rome and many in the United States. This class was my favorite and one of the best experiences of the many great experiences I had in Athens! Go introduction to Greek vegetarian cooking. Touring the market first was a wonderful way to acclimate to the culture. The guide and translator, Nina, was very knowledgeable and accommodating.
