Itinerary
Visit Cobá, a majestic city surrounded by exuberant vegetation and recognized for having the tallest building in the archaeological zones north of the Yucatan Peninsula, Nohoch Mul. It is a 7-level structure as tall as 42 meters (138 feet) which has 120 steps from bottom to top. This archaeological site is located in a beautiful area surrounded by 5 lagoons and numerous cenotes, noted for having the widest network of roads called "sacbé" meaning “white road” in Mayan. This gave the Mayans great power and control back in the day as they facilitated trade. During your tour, you will also explore the Church Temple, the Oval Temple, two different ball games. Get an up close look at the famous stone carvings, where the Mayans etched out important events, as well as astronomical findings. Don't miss out on this impressive cultural legacy and visit this historical site.
Immerse yourself in nature's beauty as you take a refreshing swim in a stunning cenote surrounded by the lush jungle. This crystal-clear oasis offers a moment of tranquility and connection with the sacred waters revered by the ancient Mayans.

Gato was very knowledgeable about the Cabo temple, Mayan culture (past and present), and Yucatan geography. Gato paid close attention to all guests and their ability to deal with the heat and terrain.

Perfect day experiencing Coba and a beautiful cenote with traditional food, exploring the Mayan culture! Our driver Adrion & guide Mica were exceptional. We were first picked up from our resort at 6:30 am (we were the earliest pick up due to being the furthest resort); we then picked up some other people that were doing slightly different group excursions before making our way to a meet point in playa del Carmen where we transferred vans and were with Mica and Adrion the rest of the day. We went straight to Coba, got a history lesson from Mica (extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide) and after being transported to the big pyramid on tricycles, climbed straight to the top of the pyramid. We then walked our way back through the grounds to the front, learning more about the other structures on the way. After finishing the Coba tour, we tasted local tequilas and honeys at a shop just outside the entrance to the site. Adrion had cold chilled towels waiting for us to hep us cool off and a cooler of water, beer, soda and snacks. We then made our way to the cenote where our group was the only one there a majority of the time. We asked for permission to enter the cenote during a traditional Mayan ceremony with a shaman, and had 30 minutes to swim. Once we were done, we had a traditional lunch and could browse Mayan made goods. Then transported back to our hotels! Definitely wear sunscreen, appropriate shoes for walking/climbing. A hat and sunglasses are a must. Small group of 9 was perfect for us. Also don’t forget a swimsuit, a towel, and a fresh change of clothes for after swimming! Highly recommend this trip, amazing experience for what you pay for!

We really enjoyed our trip to Coba and preferred it to Chichen Itza as it was much quieter. Was longer than we expected as it said 3hrs online but it was actually all day. We were picked up at 8:15 and arrived back at our hotel 16:15. Our guide Ana and driver Luis were great, really friendly and very knowledgeable and it was great that there were only 10 people on our tour.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! 😊 We’re glad to hear you had such a pleasant day exploring with Ana and Luis, and that the smaller group made everything more enjoyable. Your feedback means a lot, and we’d be happy to have you join us again for another adventure in the Caribbean with Cancun Adventures!

It was better that what was described to us. My wife and I really enjoyed it. I will recommend it to anyone. Waters and beer was free. So no need to bring your own

This was a very nice tour. Ana and Luis, the guide and driver, were fantastic and very knowledgeable. The food was very good, but I wish we could bring our water into the restaurant.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the tour and that Ana and Luis did a fantastic job as your guide and driver. We're also happy you liked the food. We appreciate your note about not being able to bring water into the restaurant — we’ll definitely take that feedback into consideration. We hope to welcome you back on another adventure soon!
Nice bit of guiding and driving. Really appreciated the history of Mayan math, history, and culture. Coba visit worked well. Saw alot in 90 minutes. The rickshaw bikes enabled my 82 year-old Mom, with a cane, to make the trip. Cenote (including the ritual at the start) was great. Ditto the food. Ivan (our driver) was always looking at the road and never his phone. Mike had good humor.
