There's also an informative audio tour commentary on the double-decker bus, so you can make sense of the fabulous sights you're experiencing. With access to 14 stops around the city, and the ability to hop on and off the bus as much as you please within the given time period, you can truly immerse yourself into the culture of this charming destination.

- Until 31st October 2026: First departure from Stop 1 at 8:45am. Last departure from Stop 1 at 6pm. Tour duration: 70 minutes approximately. Frequency: every 7 - 10 minutes
- 1st November 2026 - 20th March 2027: First departure from Stop 1 at 8:55am. Last departure from Stop 1 at 3:55pm. Buses run every 20 minutes. Tour duration: 70 minutes approximately
- Mobile and printed paper vouchers are both accepted on this tour and can be redeemed at any of the stops along the route
- Vouchers are valid for 12 months from travel date selected at check-out
- Kids go free! Up to 3 kids can travel for free per adult ticket. Child tickets must be added to basket when purchasing tickets. Valid for travel before 31st March 2027
- Sunday 19th July: Diversions will be in place from 12:30pm until 4:30pm due to the Festival Cavalcade. Stops 5, 6 and 7 will be out of use during this time, and customers should expect delays

Weather spoiled it but we were shown highlights of the city but it would help if, in many places, tree tops did not hinder the view. Was a bit disappointed in the city centre, to be honest. Prefer many other cities
A fun and easy way to learn a bit about the city, both history and geography. Over our 24 hours, we heard different narrations, which was enchanting.

We did all three routes around Edinburgh and all were very well set out and informative. Special thankyou to Lena our tour guide and Damon the driver on the green route as the tour was exceptional and was one of the highlights of our whole trip
This tour was great and well worth the money! The guides were very informative and helpful, especially Jemma. The bus was a great way to see all parts of the city as well as helpful in getting around the large city cheaper than a taxi. The buses were also impressively on schedule. Highly recommend.
The hop on hop off bus was a great way to see the city and take a much needed walking break. We recommend booking the 24 hr pass which we didn’t do, but wished we did because the buses are a great way to get around the city at a low cost. You can plug into the guided tour and hear all about the landmarks as you pass them. It helps us get our bearings so we knew what we wanted to visit later. We loved this experience and would do it again.

The best way to see the city and all the historical sites. It's very easy to navigate and there are plenty of people working for the bus tours to help if needed.
Not easy to identify the meeting place. The tour is comprehensive and offers a fairly complete presentation of Edinburgh. Unfortunately for us, there was a lot of traffic that day, so the tour lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes instead of one hour.
Our time in Edinburgh was short so the perfect solution was the hop on hop off bus. The ride through the city was a great review of history. No matter how many pictures we’ve seen being there was simply amazing.

Great way to see key monuments without having to navigate it on your phone! We were able to do a lot more in a day.

We found our way from our hotel to start our hop on and hop off tour at stop 2. I had preordered our tickets so the rainy day wasn’t planned. This meant we had to wait for 3 busses to pass since they were all full ( we had a party of 7). Andrew who was working the stop was wonderful and apologetic ( we kept telling him we understand and we know he has no control over the weather). He even called in for an empty bus after the 3rd one couldn’t take us. We had first dibs on an empty bus which we did the whole loop on plus more stops. The audio tour was well done with interesting facts of the area and the stops we made. Highly recommend!
