Itinerary

10 min

Explore Roupell Street, a fascinating glimpse into 1820s London, with its charming Georgian houses built for the working class. John Roupel reclaimed marshy land and named the streets after his family. Postmen's confusion led to name changes. The area almost burned down in 1829, prompting fire insurance reminders. Notice plaques on houses – without one, private firefighters would let your house burn. Despite WWII bombings, these streets remain. Visit The King's Arms, a Grade II Victorian Pub, offering 10 real ales, including local brews. Once an undertaker's and magistrates' court, it now serves top-notch Thai cuisine.

5 min

Visit the brigde which was opened 1in 869 by Queen Victoria. It is named after the Dominican Friars who had their monastery at the north end of the bridge. The tops of the support columns are shaped like pulpits in its memory.

Highly recommend for something different

This was my fifth visit to London in recent years and my third tour with TallyHo (first on this route). I found the ride and tour as enjoyable as the other two, with no overlap and totally new information and pieces of history (even a song). EDWARD was a fantastic tour guide who entertained the two of us on this tour and safely navigated us through the City. I travelled solo, but there was another tourist who joined and that made the trip even more personal. Thank you. I’ll be back.

Great way to get explore and fine out more

A varied and interesting itinerary to see some key London highlights on two wheels. Bike was good and the cycling is flat and easy. I learnt so much from Luke the tour guide. A highlight was cycling down a traffic-free Mall!

A wonderful tour!

We had a fabulous afternoon with Katie (our guide); funny, knowledgable, helpful and wonderful! Katie took really good care of us, making sure we always felt safe. Pace was just right and bikes super comfortable and easy to ride. I have lived in London for 30 years and was delighted to discover places I didn’t know and learnt a lot about the city I love. Full of great stories and interesting anecdotes, this is a very special way to get to know London - thoroughly recommend it.

Back in the saddle after many years!!!!

Had a brilliant afternoon yesterday with tour guide James!! It was great fun and full of interesting facts that we didn’t know even though we were brought up in London. Felt very safe and confident in the way in led us across busy roads and along every pathway. Would thoroughly recommend these bike tours!

Excellent Guide, SUPER interesting yet not a ride for a beginner cyclist!

This one was a little tough to review so I am rating based on the guide - Edward! The cycling turned out to be a little scary and difficult for a beginner cyclist with us (along side cars and people who are walking everywhere!). Edward could not have been better in handling this situation with a variety of different people present and he was so incredibly kind to the beginner cyclist. The sites we saw were outstanding, interesting and Edward was very knowledgeable, funny and thoughtful. Super call out to Edward!! Note to potential cyclists - Our tour was 2 - 6 pm on a weeknight. Around 4:00 people started flooding to the streets so we were not only navigating cars, and other cyclists, now we had people EVERYWHERE, and there are many uber eats/other delivery drivers / E-bikes sharing the biking lanes and they ride very quickly, expect us to move, and the bikes had 1 gear.

A must do when in London!

A perfect way to kick off our first full day in London. We covered a lot of ground quickly and learned loads from our entertaining guide. It was fun to get to spray paint in the Banksy graffiti tunnel. We saw the highlights of the Changing of the Guards and parade. Highly recommend!

Lovely bike tour

Lovely bikes and route. Everything safe, exciting historical facts. The pub stop had some tasty fries. Would recommend this eastern districts tour in addition to Westminster.

Wonderful Tour of Lesser Known Sites

Katie provided us with an excellent tour. We've been to London before and have seen the major attractions, and she showed us some of the less touristy areas and the stories behind them. Would definitely recommend for anyone that wants to see some lesser known spots. Also, it's a very flat tour. Not difficult at all.

Great midday bike tour

We had a small group of four on our tour with Katie. It was a pleasant surprise to have a small group and it definitely helped navigate some of the more crowded areas. We navigated around some popular sights and many hidden gems we wouldn’t have found on our own. Our tour did go from 10:30-2ish and my only suggestion for riders would be to get a large breakfast before the tour. Or adding a market stop or making sure we have time to get lunch at the pub on the tour would be a nice option.
