Paul was an excellent guide. He really knew his stuff. The chocolatiers we visited were each individual and interesting. My favourite was our first stop - Charbonnel and Walker. Their rose cream was to die for!
Thank you for your review and 5*rating of my Chocolate Tasting Tour. Regards Paul the tour guide.
It was a nice tour. A short introduction of history in the start. After that we mostly visited shops (actually 4 to be exact) and tasted samples from the counter. But you also couldn't choose the samples, it was more random. I don't think it's fair for this price. It's nice to have a short walk seeing all those shops. But for around £10? For more than £30 I'd like a very deep historical note on each shop, what definition of "best" chocolate is, why, what other things are going on in London. Maybe a little bit more preset for visitors (us): something like a little ceremony in one of the shops with tea and different types of chocolates. Actually it was really hard to taste different pieces of chocolates without a drink! So I had to care about it myself. Lots of things to improve. I hope this tour will become a little better value! :-)
Sorry to hear you were not fully satisfied with our tour. Unfortunately the locations do not provide demonstrations as most do not have the space. If you had asked the tour guide for a drink we could have got the shops to give you a glass of water. Regarding the price of the tour, we have to pay each shop for the Chocolate we supply and the additional chocolates the guide carries, these are not cheap chocolates. And as you may be aware we have to pay the guide and insurances and all our advertising costs which also are not cheap. And as you would have seen you get a discount in all the shops even if you spent a few pounds. This is not available to the general public.
Paul was an excellent guide. He is very knowledgeable about the whole chocolate process and the chocolate companies’s products. He waited so everyone could hear him and didn’t leave anyone out. The 3 stores we went to had excellent products, samples and of course we bought, bought and bought! Loved the tour.
Thank you for your review and 5* rating.
What a great tour. Paul went above and beyond what was expected. Giving us details and tidbits of information as we made our way through the tour.
Thank you for your review and 5* rating of my tour.
