Private tour of Peaceful Chiran Gardens

Our tour guide Eijii from Down South tours was an excellent tour guide of peaceful Chiran. His English was very good and we learned a lot about samurai and Japanese gardens. Also, we now understand why there is a Museum of Peace about kamikazi pilots in World War II. Eijii made a special effort to help me find kelp candy in a supermarket. We were glad to take this private tour instead of one with 30+ tourists. Much recommended!

Exceptional tour! Exception tour guide! Ask for Eiji!

Eiji was just the nicest man! He knew so much about the Peace Museum and shared so much history of Japan! He took us to the Kagoshima Samurai Garden which was beautiful and had the ancient Japanese homes. He was so easy to talk to and to understand...you should take this tour! Thank you for a wonderful day...it was our best tour on our vacation!

Eiji was a delightful guide, very knowledgeable. The Peace Museum was moving and thought provoking, and the Samurai village a quiet look into the past. A great day.

Chiran tour

Eiji-san was very friendly and helpful! His knowledge about the different plants in the gardens was more than I expected. He was very helpful in helping us purchase tea and get it shipped at one of our stops and his lunch recommendation was amazing! The best soba we had on the trip.

Private tour that ticked all the right boxes

Eiji our tour guide made the day a smooth, relaxed pace exploration. He communicated via what’s app in the run up to the tour which made our collection from the port nice and easy. We visited the Chiran Samurai gardens & Peace Museum plus a beautiful vista overlooking tea plantations and the coast which was breathtaking. The tour had a very pleasant pace, without crowds of people and a couple of lovely stops to try different teas and a spot of lunch. I highly recommend this tour experience.
