Well organized and prepared.
Absolutely horrible. WATCH OUT AND DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING IN EGYPT WITH VIATOR/TRIPADVISOR UNTIL THEY CAN VET THE LOCAL OPERATOR PROPERLY The service : One day trip from Cairo to Suez was completely unacceptable and resulted in the non-delivery of the tour. The scheduled start time was 8:00 AM. The tour operator was over one hour late, provided false information regarding the delay (due to driver issue, again another lie after no contact for 40 min) , and demonstrated a COMPLETE LACK of professionalism and communication for a prolonged period of time. This behavior is unacceptable and frankly constitutes scammer-like conduct. Due to the tour operator's failure to show up on time, provide inaccurate information, or maintain communication, an immediate and full processing of a refund is requested from our side.
The pics on this tour are different from what we actually went. It is misleading !! we only saw the mouth of Suez canal (South part of Suez canal), didn't see the boats, didn't see the Suez canal ! perhaps we didn't pay enough !! pick others if you want to see the canal, don't pick this one.
Mirna was a very nice Person. It was very helpful for the Organisation. The drive was very good. Please note, the Tour is only the Canal, not the City.
Driver was just that - a driver. Not a tour guide. Knew NOTHING about the Suez Canal, the area, the ships, the history. We had to pay extra for entrance to the Suez Canal Club to get a view of the canal. Once there the view was very good and we were able to have as much time as we wanted. The food available was very basic but the service was enthusiastic. Myrna from the office was very good at contacting and following up.
The Tui Egypt representatives took good care of us. Merna contacted me the day before the travel and assured us that we would be picked up from our hotel. Ahmed who drove us to Suez also contacted me soon after and came in time the next morning. Watching large ships sailing through the Suez canal was such a memorable experience! After one and half an hour’s stay by the canal we were taken to a local eatery for a ‘koshari’ lunch. On our request Ahmed dropped us at Tahrir square at about 1:30 in the afternoon.
Firstly our driver was alright . He tried to do his best. However the tour operator - really screwed us over. We were not even taken close to the canal (as shown in their pictures and even travellers photos). I have attached the view we got in the photo. The advertisement said that we could visit the memorial, however the operator said that the memorial was within the port and hence no access to see it. I don't understand why this was advertised including close up pictures of the ships. 2nd, it was Ramadan so lot of restaurants were closed for lunch so the driver drove to a few places around to look for lunch, only after persistently asking us to buy our own seafood. He then couldn't find any restaurants-the operator accuses us that we asked him to drive around to different restaurants. When you try reason with the operator they just give you excuses and don't even answer the questions properly. Despite this they did give us a partial refund after we requested this on viator.
Driver was polite & excellent. I wanted to see up close Suez canal. But could interact with children in the fish market of Suez city,I was satisfied.
Great trip! Cheap tours does an amazing job communicating before and after the tour. Great value for all that's included. Islam was such a great driver. He was very friendly, polite, attentive and truly cared about our safety and well being. Would highly recommend Cheap Tours and Islam.
Over 150 years old, the Suez Canal is a very special place. It is a feat of human perseverance and a forerunner to more significant marvels of engineering, such as the Panama Canal, which is 45 years younger than the Suez Canal. My trip to Egypt would not have been complete without a visit to this shrine of mankind's progress in navigation. Merna was very helpful in arranging all the logistics, and Eslam was a kind and gracious driver and guide. Fortunately for me, the Suez Canal had just reopened yesterday for traffic between the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. It had been closed for some time because of all the conflicts in the region. I was able to see some of the first few ships to cross over from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea since the reopening of the canal, and I also saw some native birds, such as pied kingfishers, little egrets, a hoopoe, and a white wagtail. We finished the trip with a delicious fresh seafood lunch at a nearby restaurant in Ismailia, overlooking the shimmering waters of the canal. Another shout-out to Eslam, an excellent guide with superb social skills!
