Carpenters Legacy at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino

As a Carpenters’ fan from their start in the ‘60s and a Celebrity Impersonator & Talent Manager in the ‘90s myself, I was both impressed & blessed by Sally Olson & Ned Mills’ nostalgic & beautiful tribute show. Their residency in the V Theatre in Planet Hollywood is a show not to be missed, and I’m sure glad I finally got to see it! I can only add my own accolades to the already highly-acclaimed ‘Carpenters Legacy’ show. I never thought I’d hear a voice so beautiful as Karen Carpenter’s again, but Sally not only has that voice which resonates in your heart, she also carries the look & mannerisms that will leave you doing a double-take. And Ned as her brother Richard is not just an astounding pianist, but he also has the same look & humor as Richard Carpenter. I was really impressed how he carried the show with his own solo piano compositions & anecdotal patter as Sally made costume changes backstage too. And speaking of the stage, it was intimate & elegant and perfect for what appeared as a two-person show, knowing that their three back-up musicians were either backstage performing live, or pre-recorded. Either way, the songs & medleys flowed beautifully, and the overall production was flawless. Great show for all ages & families. I have worked with many great Legends in Concert performers in the past, and I can easily say that Sally & Ned are in good company as Karen & Richard’s perfect tribute match. I never got to meet or even see the Carpenters back in the day, but I got to meet Sally & Ned after their show, and feel like I nearly have now. This was such a fun show! These two really know how to entertain! Sally and Ned put their heart into the songs. Sally sounds so close to Karen Carpenter and Ned is amazing on the piano. Intimate theater so all seats are good!

Our group purchased VIP tickets and was looking forward to an enjoyable show featuring many of the Carpenters’ wonderful songs. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the excessively high volume level. The music was so loud that it detracted from our ability to appreciate and enjoy the performance. Turn down the volume!!

I feel they were trying very hard to be entertaining, but they definitely miss some mark some of her songs. She sounded pretty flat and off key. The show lasted one hour and after the hour, we were glad to leave.

If you’re in Las Vegas and love great music, don’t miss Carpenters Legacy. Sally Olson doesn’t just perform Karen Carpenter’s songs—she truly embodies Karen’s voice, style, grace, and presence in a way that’s both moving and authentic. And then there’s Ned Mills. His piano playing is absolutely masterful, bringing every song to life with incredible musicianship and heart. Together, they capture the magic of The Carpenters while creating an unforgettable live experience of their own. A beautiful tribute to one of the greatest voices of all time.

You feel from the show that they were a top a long time aho and now on the way down. The stars of the show lost their sparkle and just wanted it to end as much as we did. We went to see 4 different shows whilst we were in vegas and I must say the other 3 were world class, sadly this wasn't.

I was amazed with the performance from Sally and Ned. I truly enjoyed myself. The way they honored Karen and Richard carpenter was awesome.. the detail that Sally had for karen's wardrobe was outstanding. The music was spot on , and i'm sure karen and richard carpenter would be very proud of them. After the show, Sally signed a T-shirt for me. She was very kind. This show was the highlight of my vacation. Thank you. Bruce

The theater was a little older and unkept. It did show from the walls, ceilings, seats and stage needs a little renovation appointment. But on with the show... For the price we paid, it is worth it to see a tribute duo from the 60's and 70's growing up as a child with all the songs we grew up listening to. We sang along to the music, and watched how they brought back childhood memories. They did all their hit songs and did a montage of their well known songs. Even the mic holding position was the same as Karen as from the videos playing behind her on the large screens. As from the negative past post on here, they are entertainers who put in a show, talented they are, they do their best to bring back all the history and talent that Karen and Richard had in the past. From the clothes they wore, all the stories, pictures, and songs. Hey, they are very good. There are other tribute bands out there that look, sound and feel like the originals but the Legacy are very good and talented!!! Go back in time and check them out... You will be singing along also!!! Sally and Ned you are Karen and Richard Carpenter!!! Enjoy!!!🎼🎼🎼🎹🎹🎹🎤🎤🎤

The entire show was excellent: actors, set and projections, costumes, music, etc. Everything was well-coordinated and interpreted.
