Itinerary
At the lower cable station, we will join a queue of tourists to go on the five-minute cable car trip to the top of Table Mountain, 1 067 meters above sea level, and explore the summit. You’ll find a self-service restaurant, Table Mountain Café, offering a range of food and drinks, snacks, desserts and wines. Table Mountain is a great spot to sit and soak up the commanding 360-degree views of Cape Town, Table Bay, the nearby peaks of the surrounding mountains and the rest of the Table Mountain National Park, in which the Cableway is situated. Once on top there are 3 trails you can choose to do with the guide: DASSIE WALK (15 min) AGAMA WALK (30 min) KLIPSPRINGER WALK (45 min)
The ferries depart from the Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V & A Waterfront. (Please note that our tour guide will not be joining you on the tour of the Robben Island museum.) You will disembark at Murray’s Bay Harbour situated on the east coast of the Island and take a short walk to buses that will transport you and a group of people to all the historical sites around the Island. On the way to the buses, you will pass buildings and a high wall built by prisoners during the 1960s. The prison tour will be conducted by a Robben Island Tour Guide. They are fully conversant and knowledgeable about the Island’s multi-layered 500-year-old history. The tour route includes the graveyard of people who died from leprosy, the Lime Quarry, Robert Sobukwe’s house, the Bluestone quarry, the army and navy bunkers and the Maximum Security Prison where thousands of South Africa’s freedom fighters were incarcerated for years. The tour culminates with a viewing of Nelson Mandela’s cell.

A powerful experience that serves as a reminder of the fragile line humanity treads. The inhumanity is highlighted by the personal recollections of former prisoners.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Robben Island is indeed a powerful reminder of both the fragility and resilience of humanity, and the personal stories of former prisoners are often what touch visitors the most. I’m glad you were able to connect with that part of our history in such a meaningful way. We truly appreciate you taking the time to reflect on it and hope to welcome you back to Cape Town again in the future.

Amazing… pure history and to be shown around by one of the previous inmates was incredible. Always try and get the 9am boat to robben island. We were lucky and got the only boat of the day. The crossing can be choppy and if it’s too bad all will be cancelled Table mountain was breathtaking. Our guide Chris was excellent

Coordinating with driver, and port operations made for a missed departure and having to buy new tickets for a later time lead to a long day and frustrating experience
Good day, Courtney Reid, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. It is unfortunate you had a frustrating experience. After carefully investigating the situation, and looking at the evidence provided by our driver/guide and the emails sent to you. You were given a pick up time and received your tickets 21 days before your tour. The driver/guide contacted you the day before your tour, to reconfirm a pick up time of 8:00am. On the day of the tour, We see on his call log he was there at 7:45am and tried to contact you, he even sent you a Whatsapp image of how he looks and where he was standing waiting for you. You called him back at 8:07am stating you were late. At 8:29am Our pick up driver tried to contact you 6 times. The Ferry to Robben Island left at 9:00. You met him after 9:00. Could you let us know from our side what We could of done differently?
