Pick up from your hotel, apartment, Airbnb, Athens airport, or Piraeus port. We need about 1,5 hours to get to Sounio.
A small brackish-water lake fed by underground currents seeping through the mass of Mount Hymettus. The Lake is a mineral spa that is reported to have many healing properties for such ailments as eczema and dermatological diseases, neuralgia, headaches, disfiguring arthritis, chronic gynecological diseases, lumbago, sciatica and other problems. The lagoon formed approximately 2,000 years ago. It was once a large cavern that collapsed following an earthquake. The outline of the collapsed cavern roof can be clearly discerned from a distance. The lake is recognized as a wonder of nature because of its unique appearance and the surroundings.
The majestic Temple of Poseidon is an important landmark and holds significant historical and cultural value. Not only can you explore the historical monuments on site, but the Cape also offers a spectacular panoramic view of the Aegean sea and nearby islands such as Kea, Kythnos, Serifos, and Aigina.
After exploring the Temple of Poseidon, you can visit a Greek tavern by the sea, after your personal driver's recommendation, to have lunch while enjoying the view and cool Mediterranean breeze. Taste greek traditional sea food and have some ouzo as the sun sets.

The pick-up time is adjustable upon your request. Your personal driver will pick you up and return you to the same place or at the point you prefer. In case of a hotel, he will be waiting for you at the hotel lobby. In case of an apartment, he will be waiting for you at the entrance of the building. Yiannis was our driver, he was very knowledgeable and shared alot of history with us along our ride. The drive was beautiful slong the Athenian Riveria.
