Fun interactive day out

The activity was great. Once we figured out how to play (which involved downloading the Works Trail City app), we had a great time. It was really useful to have directions and images of where we needed to go all in one place. The clues made for a fun, interactive day out, and the audio guide was really interesting too (which can also be read as plain text if you can’t listen). The only thing to be made aware of is that a lot of the attractions in Cambridge are closed on a Monday. Whilst you can still complete the trail, you won’t be able to head into the museums/galleries it takes you to.

Operator response

Thank you so much Georgia! 😊 We're thrilled you had a great time once you were set up, and that the directions, images and audio guide all came together nicely in Cambridge! Great tip about Monday closures for other visitors — since our puzzles are all based on the exterior, you can always complete the trail, but it's useful to know for museum visits. We hope to welcome you on another adventure in a different city soon! 🗺️

Enjoyable, but lightly wonky app.

Interesting & enjoyable app based scavenger hunt, over ten points. Marked down by one point as half-way through the app crashed and would not re-load, despite closing everything down and restarting the phone. Our only option was to open up an new game on another person’s phone and start anew, starting from our current location.

Wandering through Cambridge with purpose

Having written a few scavenger hunts in my time, this was pretty much what I expected, but still, a good way to introduce Cambridge to someone new. We were quite happy wandering around and looking for the challenges - only one 'item' was pretty rubbish! The accompanying information was informative, though a little verbose at times. Still! A great alternative to wandering aimlessly around and if you finish off with Evensong at Kings [around 5.15pm], then it's definitely worth doing.
