The experience with Mina the tour guide in Luxor was excellent. He went above and beyond with his knowledge and experience. Very attentive to a customer who had to have some extra help. That part was great and there are absolutely no complaints whatsoever. The review would’ve gotten a full five starts if it hadn’t been for an incident that happened with I’m not sure if it’s the operator or administrator of the tour. We booked two tickets…( my cousin and I ). We booked together and got the confirmation for both. A day before the tour, I was contacted by the company asking me if instead of taking the overnight trains to and from Luxor, I’d have liked to fly instead and get a hotel in Luxor at our own expense. Something we had not budgeted for. When I said no, the company warned us that we would not be sleeping on the same room nor even on the same train car, after having booked the trips together. I didn’t want to cancel because the schedule worked with our time line so I accepted the fact that we wouldn’t be sleeping on the same room and made sure the company knew about it. Magically, two minutes after, they “ made it work and managed to get us two together “ I asked the agency what would’ve happened if it was my child and I booked together… but they just brushed the question and proceeded with the details of the tour. Other than that… great choice. I would do it again next time I go to Egypt .
Dear Valued guest , Thank you so much for taking the time to review our tour and we are glad that you enjoyed the tour , we are sorry about the train inconvenience as we got the last 2 beds available in the train and we sorted out few min later for extra cost to make you satisfied ( Cancellation policy doesn't allow us to book the train much earlier ) , Kind Regards
Incredible trip to Luxor in just one day. We were picked from our hotel and dropped at the train station by our driver, Islam. Note that its not easy to buy tickets online, and all communication at the stations is in Arabic. The very next morning, our guide Marian came to meet us at the station in Luxor and began the whirlwind tour of the day. Our first stop was Valley of the Kings where Marian gave us a helpful tour of the tombs to see with interesting histories associated with them. She suggested Seti tomb which cost a premium fee of 2000 EGP as opposed to the others at about 700 EGP. Good suggestion and well worth the cost. This was the most colorful with detailed works of art on the walls. Marian also suggested a local place for a buffet lunch. Basic but very satisfying - $15 a head. In the afternoon, we visited the massive and intimidating temples of Karnak and Luxor. Wow! Marian showed us things in the carvings and columns and interpreted stories behind them, which we could never have understood on our own. We made the stop at Alabaster factory but skipped papyrus factory. We were not interested in buying touristy stuff. We focused on tombs and temples. To round up the evening, we took a relaxing ride along the Nile during sunset. I think the price we paid for the Nile boat is too expensive - $25pp. We were left off at the train station with return tickets. The following morning, Islam fetched us from Cairo and delivered us to the hotel. This is full service travel with pickup and dropoff to the hotel which is amazing. Highly recommended this trip. If you're able to handle the commute by overnight train, then go for it. Just know that this is an expensive trip overall. $350pp + entry fee to the tombs + food + tips
Thank you so much :)
Hany was one of the nicest and smartest tour guides I’ve had - really knowledgeable with everything Luxor. He made sure we were comfortable, keeping the tour moving at pace while also giving us enough time to rest. Highly rate! The sleeper train overall is a bit old. To Luxor, the train had ripped and dirty carpet. To Cairo, the train was much newer and it made a massive difference. But the attendants were super nice and friendly.
Thank you so much :)
SEAMLESS EXPERIENCE Itinerary - Giza to Luxor (round trip) - Pre/Leaving Giza: we had a driver who picked us up from our hotel and took us to the station and to our cabin room. We had booked for 3 people but researched the cabins were in doubles so one person would have to sleep alone. We asked the operator via WhatsApp if this can be accomodated for and they said us at an additional fee which was fine as we didn’t want the single to bunk with a stranger. The driver was fun and personable. - En route: Sleeper train can be a bit dated but there are cabins and carriages that are in better condition. There is a lounge area available which was great. Food (breakfast and dinner) was okay for a sleeper train. We all slept quite well and it had everything we needed including charging ports. - At Luxor: greeted by driver and tour guide (Hussein and Hany Yessen) who were the best hosts ever! Got us breakfast and drinks to start the day. Guide was VERY thoughtful - gave us nap time in the car and timed tours based on how hot it was (it reached 47 degrees). Explanations were helpful and insightful. We had sufficient time to explore. - leaving Luxor - we booked for connected room but we weren’t given it. The guide sorted us out and worked very hard for us to get connected rooms in the end - calling people, speaking to people at the station and on the train. Hany is the best!!! Highly recommend. There are many sellers on the street - having a guide in Luxor will save you a lot of money.
Thank you so much , you're a champ :)

On the one hand a culturally very varied trip combined with an intensive group connection on the other hand very delicious meals on board the boat King Egypt. I had already carried out the same trip last year, but it was still a successful journey
