Description

1 Hour Historical Cruise with Audio Guide & Welcome Drink Our fleet features two unique historical ships: the Kisfaludy Paddle Steamer and the Hableány Paddle Steamer. Both ships are faithful recreations of 19th-century paddle steamers, sister vessels with similar designs and historical significance, offering the same panoramic sightseeing experience. Built in the spirit of Hungary’s Reform Era, their period-accurate construction and fine detailing evoke the atmosphere of a bygone age, creating the feeling of a true time-travel experience on the Danube. To make your journey even more enjoyable, we offer an online audio guide in 30 languages. Simply scan the QR code on board with your phone. For the best experience, don't forget to bring your own earphones! Around sunset, we slightly adjust our route to pass Parliament at its best light. Please note: seating is not allocated and works on a first-come, first-served basis. Always follow crew instructions and safety regulations.

Great sunset river tour

We took this river cruise at sunset. Budapest is such a beautiful city but seeing it from the Danube at twilight is amazing. The views of the parliament were alone worth the price. Highly recommend for a wonderful experience for great photos of both the Buda and Pest sides of the river.

Operator response

Thank you very much! We hope to see you onboard again!

Decent Danube River Cruise

This is a decent way to experience Budapest from the Danube. There are many options for river cruises and I'd say this one is solidly in the middle. They overcrowd the boat making it difficult to find seating at a table, especially if you're one of the last people to board (get to the dock early). I wasn't able to access the audio guide and heard others also struggled with access so I wouldn't recommend this tour if you're interested in learning about the city. If you're there to take pictures, this is a solid choice if you can get a good spot on the boat.

Operator response

Thank you for your review and for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you found the boat crowded. There are indeed highly popular peak hours—such as our sunset and evening sailings—when demand is exceptionally high. It is standard for river cruises everywhere that evening slots are the busiest and most frequented. While we strictly monitor our capacity and guarantee a comfortable seat for every single passenger on board, these cruises will naturally feel much livelier. For a more relaxed and spacious atmosphere, we always recommend choosing one of our earlier daytime departures. Regarding the audio guide, we are very sorry you had trouble accessing it. This is precisely why we explicitly state on our platforms and on board that if anyone experiences technical difficulties, they should ask our staff for assistance. Our crew is always right there and happy to help you set it up on the spot, as those who use our guide truly enjoy it. We deeply regret that this didn't happen during your trip. We hope you will give us another chance in the future, perhaps during a quieter time of day, so we can provide you with the full, seamless experience!

Beautiful trip up the Danube

Great trip to view city at night. Plenty of room, friendly staff on board. The hour was just long enough to see all the sights.

Paddle steamer tour

This is a lovely calm experience with WiFi and an audio guide that you can either listen to through your earpiece and just read on your phone. We did the 8.30pm tour and saw all the lights coming on and buildings fully lit. It’s a beautiful sight. This is the cruise for you if you dont want hustle and bustle and lots of noise. We would recommend this tour

So glad we chose this boat instead of a big one!

Great time and great views. We get to see the sunset and the town lit up as well. Small boat but less crowded and space between visitors. Best pictures of our trip!

Operator response

Thank you! We are so happy you could take some beautiful photos during the cruise.

Good old fashioned paddle boat.

We booked the 1pm cruise as it was exceptional value for money. In June, near the longest day, the 8.30 evening cruise is no different. I'm sure the evening cruises when it's dark and the city is lit up, would be lovely. The boat is an old fashioned paddle boat, in good condition and offered some nice touches. A welcome drink as you board, there was plenty of room and a choice of seating. Blankets were available if it is cool and the staff were friendly. The boat left dock 10 and went up to Margaret Island, turned around, went down past the starting point to the next bridge and turned again for home. The ride was smooth and comfortable. Well done Duna Cruises.

Operator response

Thank you very much! Your kind review means a lot to us. We hope to welcome you again for an evening cruise!

Take the tour in...

Take the tour on the steamboat; it is much better than the other boats. There are no glass barriers.

Could make it even better with some history and info

Very nice little ride up and down the Danube. They have lovely seating in the Top Deck and bottom and give you a glass of Prosecco plus well Price cocktails on board. The only thing missing is that when you get on the boat there is no information about any audio guides, et cetera. You simply sit on the boat and go up and down the river. The ride could be brought more to life by having an app downloaded to your phone so you can listen to the history of the Riverside buildings.

Operator response

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed the experience! We are very sorry to hear that you missed our audio guide during the trip. We actually do have a complete digital guide available, and the best part is that you don't even need to download any app to use it. We have QR codes placed in several locations (on tables, walls, and inside the drink menus, the latter of which also includes a setup tutorial, that lead directly to our online history commentary.) Our staff is also always happy to help with the setup on the spot. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future so you can enjoy the full experience with the commentary!
