Guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant
It was a solo tour for me and I got to learn a good amount about the history of the city with our tour guide. She walked me through how the city was shaped and gave me recommendations on where to go following the tour.
Stephania was wonderful! Very informative and engaging - knowledgable and friendly. As I was the only one booked, it was basically a private tour.
Had the best walking tour ever with Mihaela yesterday. She is very knowledgeable and passionate and I loved that and how she explained her stories. She used slides and went above and beyond as a tour guide. I feel I have learnt so much thanks to Michaela and I am very grateful to her for the tour, her stories, educating me and all she showed me. I loved her amazing energy that made this tour fun. I would happily book more tours with Mihaela.
We had a private walking tour with Andra. Very interesting and highly recommended. Andra is very knowledgeable and showed us some hidden churches we most certainly would have missed had we been in our own.
At a friend's suggestion, I took the "Beautiful Decay and Alternative" tour, and I'm so glad I did. I was only in Bucharest for a few days on business and had a single day to look around and get to know the city a little. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I had a great time. My guide, Ioana, was fantastic. The tour took in loads of incredible buildings, from houses to museums, that are in various states of decay but also in various stages of repair and renovation. Each one has a story which Ioana conveyed with knowledge and passion, and we even had special permission to enter a number of them. This was followed by a tour of some amazing street art, which I absoutely loved. We even got to go inside the university and see some incredibe murals by student artists. I got to see a vibrant, creative side of Bucharest which I would otherwise never have been aware of. The tour made me want to visit the city again and get to know it better. If I do, I'll definitely take another one of these tours (maybe the coffee tour Ioana said was in the pipeline!).
"Thank you Daniel for such a wonderful review! I am happy that I was able to show you some parts of my hometown and I'm very glad that you've enjoyed the experience! Looking forward to seeing you next time you'll come to Bucharest! Warmest regards, Ioana"
We booked the Alternative Tour on very short notice and the organising team was very helpful in making it possible for us (Thank you for that!). Our tour was with Lala and it was one of the best guided tours we ever took part in. Lala was awesome and she knew a lot - not only about graffitis but also about history and architecture. We had a really great time and learned a lot. Highly recommend it! Best, Ines & Verena
"Hello, I am very happy you enjoyed our walking and talking , discovering the fresh, contemporary side of the city through street art and graffiti. Lala"
On our alternative tour through Bukarest our guide Ioana showed us beautiful street art and architecture that we would not have seen without her. She kept amazing us on this three hour walk with her knowledge about the city, the buildings and the art we passed by. A really memorable experience! Sylvia from the Netherlands.
"Dear Sylvia, I'm really glad that you've enjoyed the tour! It was a pleasure meeting you and Ron and showing you around. Thank you so much for this great review! Big hugs, Ioana"
As a big fan of murals and street art, tracking them in every new city I visit has become a hobby of mine. One of the most efficient ways to find them, especially in Bucharest, where many of the murals are rather hidden, is via a tour. Ioana was an excellent guide for this purpose: highly knowledgeable about the local street art scene, architecture and history. I really enjoyed walking around the center of the city and getting a clearer sense of its vibe. Thanks to Urban Adventures and Ioana for letting me see Bucharest through new eyes.
"Hi, Nicola! Thanks for your very kind review! Your interest in street art was absolutely contagious! It was a real pleasure to show you around the city and to tell you the stories behind the murals! Greetings, Ioana"
Ioana led this street art tour and was very knowledgeable about the city and local artists. She was also super nice and answered all of the questions our tour had. The tour takes you to some places you'd never see wandering along by yourself. Highly recommended and high value for your money.
"Hi, Kathleen! Thank you for your very nice words! I'm really happy that you've enjoyed the tour so much! Lots of hugs! Ioana"
