Spencer was our energetic and informative tour guide and kept the group engaged. The group was all the way from families to seniors. The negative environmental impacts of mining were also discussed, which is appropriate. The closing part of the tour in original Mill #3 concentrator is multi-sensory and really takes the experience over the top. Terrific job, Spencer!
Wow, what a great tour. Totally worth it. You start by going through a traditional museum with exhibits and such, but then take a train into the mountain and see not just artifacts, but demonstrations of the machinery, sounds, and lights from the mining days. It ends with a great immersive video experience that you watch inside the mill, again with the sights and sounds of the mill recreated. Also, our guide was great. I forget her name now, it was something like Kaitlin, a small Asian woman with long hair. She was just wonderful.
This was an excellent excursion as i really enjoyed the BC Heritage of the mine and the people who lived and worked there.
Ava was awesome she was so engaged in her job she made the whole experience very interesting and informative with a light hearted touch
Excellent tour guide, Eli, with a highly informative explanation of the mining experience and effects on the environment.
Fantastic experience.got to warn you, lots of stairs, no ramp for the handicap
Interesting how the miners worked. Seeing the mine in real life made it real. Story teller did a great job.
Very fun experience and a nice way to spend a couple of hours going between Whistler and Vancouver. Very informative guide who really knew the history of the mine. Super interesting info! Good for kids (lots of noise!) but for adults too! I was worried that I would be claustrophobic, but no issues at all. You could always see the exit point.
Unique experience. They had us ride a mining train. Then took us in various mine tunnels and explained the process. Lastly the information film about the working of the mill was cherry on top. Our guide Anna was very informative and explained the entire process. Definitely recommend this adventure even for younger kids.
My friends and I had a wonderful time! The museum is interactive and informative. The interpreters, like Chris, are very engaging!
