Very enjoyable and informative walking tour with excellent , friendly and informative local guide Valentina. She took us through the Quadrilatero , to renowned local food bottegas, an enoteca and osteria while explaining the difference between these and letting us taste local wines, meat , cheese, ragù and of course gelato . Would never have discovered these places and tastes on our own. Highly recommended
This was a great introduction to Bologna. Ilaria the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a small group, which is perfect. Our guide took us to some great spots to try some good food and learn about the culture behind it. Definitely recommend.
Great guide to the food and history of Bologna. Matteo was a very knowledgeable guide and introduced us to some very tasty food that I would probably not have tried if I had just been given a menu. He was also very helpful in giving us ideas about where to visit in the city. Great trip.
Today (as a solo travleller) I had a fantastic food walking tour of Bologna with our lovely guide Ilaria. We started with mortadella and wine and then enjoyed tagliatelle ragu. Dessert was delicious pistachio and cream gelato. The tour was well paced and luckily we had a nice small group of five. There was plenty of food and I learned some fascinating facts about Bologna. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in exploring Bologna’s rich food history on foot.
Valentina Fabbri was awesome. Very informative and good balance of history and fun facts. Great recommendations also offered to us to enjoy throughout the rest of our time in Bologna.
Valentina was a great guide, giving us a perfect combination of history and food. The history of the food was just as interesting as the city’s history. We traveled (at a perfect pace) to many places around the city center. We stopped a few places and picked up things “to go” not understanding that we were going to the oldest Osteria in Bologna to drink wine and eat our tasty treats of mortadella and delicious local bread. After that, we took a quick hop across the way to try Tagliatelle ragu (OMG - to die for!) and ended with gelato. A perfect and delicious introduction to the wonderful city of Bologna!
Ilaria is FANTASTICA. She has been guiding tours for years, and brings a knowledge of Bologna from time spent living and studying at the university here. She is professional, personable, funny, and a delight to spend an afternoon with. I wish I were in town longer, to experience her tours of Reggio Emilia, Parma, and Modena! Thank you Ilaria!
Ilaria was an excellent guide - the food was good and the commentary along the way was great - Ilaria gave us some fun tips regarding how the locals cook and communicate
We have been on a number food tours. This one was underwhelming. Only three items (I guess you can count the roll for the mortadella sandwich). Tour guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. The tour was pricey for what it was.
Food was delicious and knowledge was insightful. Ila did an amazing job touring us and explaining the culture.
