Tour Options
Itinerary
5:00–5:45 AM: Pick-up from your hotel in licensed 4x4 vehicles. Enjoy a 3-hour scenic drive through jungle highlands, with a 10-20 minute bathroom/snack stop along the way.
Arrival at the Port of San Blas 8:30–9:00 AM: Arrive at the port for check-in and boat assignments. While the process may feel busy and a little unstructured, the local Guna community has a well-established system, and all guests are taken care of. Board your boat for a 30-minute ride across the Caribbean Sea to the first island. Depending on wind and ocean conditions, the ride can be bumpy and you may get splashed. Boats may also stop at other islands along the way to pick up or drop off guests before reaching your destination. During the boat transfer, the boat may make short stops at different islands to pick up or drop off other travelers.
Isla Perro Chico (Shipwreck) 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Spend the morning at one of San Blas’ most popular islands. Relax on white sand beaches shaded by palms, or swim in the calm turquoise waters. Just offshore lies a shallow shipwreck, a favorite snorkeling spot where colorful tropical fish gather. It’s safe and easy to explore, even for beginners, and offers one of the best underwater photo opportunities in San Blas.
Natural Pool 12:00 – 12:30 PM: Cruise out to the famous Natural Pool, a sandbar in the middle of the Caribbean Sea where the water only reaches your waist. Wade through the crystal-clear shallows, look for starfish resting on the seabed, and enjoy the surreal feeling of standing in the ocean surrounded by endless turquoise views. Note: Itinerary may change depending on weather and ocean conditions.
Isla Chichime (Lunch Stop) 1:00 – 2:30 PM: Arrive at Isla Chichime, often considered one of the most beautiful islands in the archipelago. Enjoy free time to swim, sunbathe, or walk along its wide sandy beaches. A freshly prepared island lunch (fish, chicken, or vegetarian) is served in a rustic beachfront setting, giving you a taste of traditional Guna-style cooking.
Isla Diablo 2:30 – 3:30 PM: Your last stop is Isla Diablo, a lively little island with swaying palms and excellent swimming conditions. Take a refreshing dip, snap your final San Blas photos, or simply relax on the beach before beginning the journey back.
Boat Ride Back to the Port 3:30pm - 4:00 PM: Return to the mainland by boat. Depending on the day’s logistics, your boat may stop at other islands to pick up or drop off travelers. While these brief pauses add to travel time, they also provide glimpses of authentic island life as you pass by smaller communities and fishing boats.
Drive Back to Panama City 4:00 – 7:00 PM: Meet your 4x4 driver for the return trip through the jungle highlands. The ride takes about 3 hours, with arrival in Panama City around 7:00 PM, depending on traffic and weather conditions.

Enjoy the island the people and the food would recommend. The drive is long don’t plan anything after you will be tired because you will be island hopping.
Thank you for your wonderful review! 😊 We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the islands, the Guna culture, and the food. San Blas is a remote paradise, and the journey is part of the adventure that leads to these untouched islands. We always recommend leaving the rest of the day free after the tour, as island hopping and the return trip make for a full and unforgettable experience.
This was an amazing experience. Getting in and out of the boats is an adventure on its own. Stopping at several islands was so nice, we only wish we could have stayed longer at the natural pool stop. We enjoyed the ride, the water and a day well spend island hopping on San Blas islands. I would definitely do it again.
Getting in and out of the boats definitely adds a bit of adventure to the day 😄 Nice to hear you enjoyed the different island stops, and yes, the natural pool is one of those places where you always wish you had more time. Sounds like a day well spent, we’ll be here when you come back for round two!
Excellent trip. You do have to get up early and it’s a long traveling distance, but worth the wait. I never knew Panama had this to offer.
Thank you for your great review! 🌅 We’re so glad you found the trip worth the early start and long drive — the beauty of San Blas truly makes it worthwhile. It’s always a joy to see guests discover this hidden gem of Panama!
Excellent tour that you must make and make the most of because the time is going very fast, the attention of the excellent staff, the wonderful landscapes and the amazing snorkeling!!!
We had a really bad moment in triste experience. not terminal machine To pay with credit card. The food Was bad , not chers in the Beach. The snorkel equipment dirty and the worst part is that the helper guide stolen 100 dolars from my wallet also was looking for more from the back pack of my coworkers
We’re sorry you feel this way, but we must clarify a few very serious points in your review. First, your message is filled with incomplete words and unclear phrasing, which makes it difficult to understand your full experience accurately. More importantly, we strongly reject your accusation that someone from our Kuna team "stole" from you. This is a very serious and harmful allegation. In Guna Yala, crime — especially theft — is not tolerated. The Kuna communities operate under strict communal rules, and anyone caught stealing would face immediate expulsion from their home, family, and community. This is why crime is virtually non-existent in Guna Yala, and why we trust our team implicitly. We provide a very detailed tour description before booking, clearly stating that card payments are not possible, that services in San Blas are basic, and that guests should bring cash and prepare for a rustic experience in a remote paradise. This tour is not about five-star luxury, but about connecting with a unique culture and breathtaking nature. Allegations like yours are not only damaging but also unfair to the hardworking and honest people who welcome guests to their islands. If you had any issues during the tour, we wish you would have communicated them respectfully and directly. We ask all travelers to come with open minds and a spirit of respect when visiting indigenous communities.
Long ride from playa bonita to the port to san blas. You cross over a mountain. Our driver Jonny picked us up punctually. We picked up two other groups. You stop at the supermarket on the way for breakfast. If you get car sick you should bring something. You gwt to the port and meet up with orher groups. You then go with another guide onto the boats that take you island hopping. Our guide was adrian. He took us to 3 islands and one samd bar to see star fish. It was over cast and the water still was warm and crystal clear turquoise. The first island had a sunken ship wirh snorkeling. We brought our own but they rented some. There was a bar with drinks and food for purchase. Some brought their own with them. The second island a tastey lunch by the Gunu tribe was provded and mpre swimming and the final island also had swimming and items to purchase. Pur driver jonny was quiet but very attentive and considerate to ensuring everyone felt safe. Upon our return he was attentive and waiting for us at the dock for the long ride home.
Hi Yazmin. Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed and helpful review! 🌴 We're happy to hear that you had a smooth and enjoyable experience with both Jonny and Adrian — they are truly valued members of our team, and we’re glad they helped make your San Blas adventure comfortable and memorable. Yes, the ride across the mountains is quite a journey, but we appreciate you highlighting the need to prepare for motion sickness — great advice for future travelers. And we agree, even on overcast days, the waters of San Blas are absolutely stunning! Thank you again for joining us and for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to welcome you back for more adventures in Panama! 😊
Although we started at 5am it was well worth it to see all the islands we saw. All the islands were beautiful, the people we met were so much fun. Staff was very polite and answered all the random questions we had. Be prepared for a 2.5 ride up and back. You will be tired when you're done but it will be well worth it. I would definitely do it again.
Hi Deloris. Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're so happy to hear that the early start paid off and that you enjoyed exploring the beautiful islands—it really is a special experience. We’re also happy to hear our team made the day even better with their friendliness and helpfulness (random questions welcome anytime!). Yes, it’s a bit of a journey, but as you said—so worth it! We’d love to have you join us again for another adventure whenever you're ready.
The amazing beaches but 1- we were not given the snorkeling equipment which in theory was included and when requesting the same they mentioned that “they no longer had.” 2- the food did not taste good (both chicken and fish) 3- The cost of the drink was very high for the quality of it.
Pleasant trip and wonderful beaches. Food was great too. Try the Coco Loco. Bring ginger pills if you arent comfy riding a roller coaster for 2h straight. The hills of San Blas are a nice little bonus experience but most will need a little something for the nausea to enjoy them.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We're glad you enjoyed the beaches and food. Your tip about the ginger pills for the hills of San Blas is helpful for future travelers. Hope to see you again on another trip!
