The castles were all very interesting and the landscapes were beautiful. Though we didn’t have a proper guide, the bus driver kept us informed with the schedule and shared stories and history about Ireland.

No Blarney Here

Great day seeing Blarney Castle (yep, kissed the stone, Rock of Cashel, and Cahir Castle. Driver and tour facilitator, Derek, was awesome! Interesting history stories of each site and a bit of singing. If you’re wanting to kiss the Blarney Stone know the lines can be quite long, so head there immediately after bus exit. If it’s a Friday, Saturday, Sunday or cruise ships are n port the crowd is even larger, so lines are twice as long, as is the wait. Plan accordingly. Recommend.

Get on Richard’s tours because he’s the best!!!

Eat before you go, the only realistic stops for food are a gas station or a restaurant near Blarney. Our tour guide (Richard O’Brien) was ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!! Hands down, the best guide/host/local personality during our entire trip. Tip him well with all the money you have and then more that you can find because hems worth every coin! I wish there had been more time at Blarney, but three awesome castles in one day is a great deal for the price of this package. Also super kudos to the hustle of the bus company - the air quit working on the leg to Blarney, so it was REALLY HOT by the time I e got there. Amazingly, the issue was fixed within the 2 hour time frame we were there and we enjoyed a nice cool ride back to Dublin. Seriously, any tour guide that starts an 8am Sunday morning tour with “Good morning!” - met with silence and a few grumbles and responds with “Jesus Christ…I said GOOD MORNING!” deserves every bit of flattery, accolades a outright respect from us. Castles were awesome, timing (except for Blarney) was perfect, but it truly, truly was Richard that made our day most excellent.

The castles were nice,...

The castles were nice, being the main reason for going. However, the driver was less than desirable. Every other word was an F bomb, and his choice of music was either too loud or inappropriate, especially with children present. If you are going to learn about historical sites in Ireland, wait till you get there or learn them before you get there, because the driver isn’t going to provide it.

Great, full day! Timing of each location was great…never too much time at each place, but also enough time to explore. Highly recommend.

Fun

Had a wonderful time. The only downside is I wish I had more time to spend in the area. Kevin, our guide, was great!

Nice to know a little bit more of Ireland culture and history

It was a nice tour with an small group, less than 20 people in a van that was comfortable. Guide was nice and explain a lot of stuff during the trip, also gave advises when we had free time to roam the places.
