Set in the fictional Devonshire seaside town of Shipton Abbott, it is actually filmed in Looe in Cornwall. Stroll along the picturesque harbour and explore the winding streets of the historic town centre as you follow in the footsteps of DI Humphrey Goodman. The tour stops outside the Guildhall, which was used as the police station, and see some of the local shops and restaurants that have been featured in the show, including The Sail Loft restaurant. Part of the tour also passes by the town’s very own working fish market, which has been featured in the series. Walk along the East Looe River, which can be seen in a river chase scene in the first series of the show. One of the highlights of the tour is a stop at East Looe Beach, one of Southern Cornwall’s popular, sandy beaches. There you can breathe in the salty sea air and understand why the cast and crew enjoyed filming in this idyllic location in the South West of England.

The Beyond Paradise tour took us behind the scenes and showed us a lot of the filming locations that we wouldn’t have seen without the help of the lovely George who was very knowledgeable.
For people who have watched Beyond Paradise this walking tour of film locations is very good with lots of anecdotal bits from George. Well worth the cost. If you’ve not watched the TV series I’m not sure how much interest it would be.
