This was a super afternoon! Our driver, George, was a fount of fascinating knowledge and the whole trip was great fun, informative and enjoyable.
Fun and informative tour of the island with a great group of people - nothing too much trouble for our guide and his pal in the next car. We added to the excursion with a taste of authentic poncho - best we’d had. Plenty of wine at the vineyard as well 😉
Watch out! It’s sold as a wine and tasting tour, but actually you just pay for the driver. You will need to pay extra for the wine and tasting tour.
The listing explicitly states: "Winery guided visit and 6 table wine fees, Quinta Do Barbusano €24.00 per person." We wish to reassure you that there is no scam involved and that the information regarding the wine tasting fee was clearly displayed on the booking site at the time of your reservation.
Disappointing overall. Advertised as a wine tasting tour. Driver was friendly and knowledgeable. The off-roading was fun but after being in the old Jeep for over 2.5 hours it gets a bit boring. Content of the tour could do with improvements overall. The winery was mediocre, none of the 6 wines offered for tasting were recommended & that was the opinion of quite a large group that were there that day. The wine tour was less than an hour in total. Cost was €55 per person & €18 extra for the wine tasting & €5 extra for the glass floor cliff viewing.
As mentioned on Viator, the wine tasting €24.00 and Cabo Girão €5.00 is optional, and the associated cost is clearly stated. Guests are not obligated to participate in the tasting. Furthermore, feedback regarding the wine tasting should be directed to the winery itself, as Quinta do Barbusano is not owned by us; we only provide jeep tours. Thank you for your understanding
Amazing experience with Lino! Highly recommend if you’re looking to explore the peaks of the mountains (we went off roading through the peaks standing up in an open roof jeep) and drink some excellent local wines! Take this tour!
We had the best time on this trip. Jorge was absolutely brilliant he really is a credit to the company. It felt like we had been friends for years, so easy to get along with, knowledgable and funny guy. Jorge made the trip for us and was gutted when it was over! Highly recommend and thanks again Jorge it was so good to meet you mate! Jake and Natalie
Great food, great people, beautiful scenery and wonderful climate. Driving was a breeze, roads were well maintained and fast.
Dino was a friendly guy and pointed out all the fruits that are grown here. The skywalk was ok and gave a good view , we enjoyed the wine tasting. However did not feel it was worth the money particularly as you have to pay extra for the sky walk and the wine tasting so a very expensive taxi journey, if it wasn’t for the off road experience where we got to stand up in the 4x4 I would not have given it even 3 stars.
Nice and good driver who took us a fantastic way across the island. Fun ride offroad with the jeep. At the vineyard we were taken care of by a very talented and nice woman who showed the vineyard and told us in an interesting way about the process and the wines.
This was a great trip. I was slightly concerned about the journey in the jeep, but once Lewis (Louis?) took us off road through the vineyards it was definitely worth it! Fabulous views, great welcome at Quinta Barbusana, interesting tour of the vineyard, and plenty of wine to taste! On the way back as all four of us on this tour had already visited Cabo Girão Louis kindly arranged for us to spend some time at Camara de Lobos as an alternative. Great half day trip.
