My tour around the city of Windhoek with Motema Tours and Safaris was the best. I recommend them 👌
This tour was not "the best city tour"... it was by far the worst city tour we have ever experienced in all the years we have used Trip Advisor/Viator. We booked the tour on for a Sunday. The tour pick up was at 9.00am. The first place we visited was the Church - which was closed, so we could only see the outside. If you look at the tour itinerary you'll see that it includes the entrance tickets for both the Museum of Namibia and the Railroad Museum....both museums are closed on a Sunday - so immediately that was 2 activities and 2 hours duration that were removed. We asked to see the Kudu statue and were told it was the other end of the town so we couldn't see it. Our tour was supposed to be 3-4 hours. It finished at 11.00 as nearly everything is closed on a Sunday. We did see the Genocide Memorial but our guide, Henny knew very little historical details on any questions we asked even to the point of the most basic question of how many people were killed in the genocide. We tried to get a partial refund on our experience as we were not able to do several of the items but this was declined by the tour operator, Motema Tours and Safaris and so Viator - the parent company of Trip Advisor would not refund us. This tour is a total con if you book it for a Sunday visit.

I had a very good experience with Motema Tour for my pick-up from the airport and decided to use them for a day tour of Windhoek, Namibia. My guide, Litombo, was excellent. The insights and stories he provided about Namibian history and culture helped me understand what I was seeing. He was also great at answering my questions along the way and didn't just deliver a standard monologue. We followed the itinerary and then added a short stop where Litombo assisted me purchase something I needed for my trip. I really liked the mix of history and current day culture. Litombo explained how the city was divided before Independence and showed me the area. He also explained the importance of reconciliation since Independence. I not normally a fan of guided city tours and this one was a really nice experience because the guide was exceptional.
Heritage, History and More. An amazing experience something to cherish, an unforgettable moment forever etched in memories.
