Every time that I am in Las Vegas I make a point to visit Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art. I was recently in Vegas for one week and was able to visit "Soulful Creatures" exhibit twice. Do not miss a visit to BGFA during your Vegas trip and do try to catch "Soulful Creatures" through September 13th. To make my second visit a different experience, I did the Docent Tour Package for the first time, which I highly recommend. BGFA offers docent-led tours each morning at 11am along with all-day reentry to the exhibit. Our docent, Moonyean, exceeded our high exceptions for the Bellagio with her vast knowledge of every facet of this exhibit. It was just my brother and I so, at first, I kind of felt bad that Moonyean had to facilitate the tour for just the two of us. Right away we could tell that Moonyean is thrilled to be able to share her expertise whenever able. It was a joy. Moonyean made the tour very engaging and educational. It was more than worth the second visit. Now I will always plan to take the docent-led tour each time thanks to our experience Moonyean. I promise you'll do the same.
The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art is definitely a must stop if you are in Las Vegas or staying at the Bellagio. This intimate and carefully curated gallery makes the visit delightfully unique. The best part is having the docent guide you along the exhibits. I highly recommend Moonyean, who is exceptional. Her knowledge of art and providing context behind the different pieces were extraordinary! She made the exhibits come alive by asking engaging questions to my teenage sons. She has been our docent for two uniquely different art exhibitions (American Duet Jazz and Soulful Creatures). Both times, we walked away with so much knowledge and appreciation. Our family cannot wait to come back when the next exhibition comes around.
Truth be told, this review is NOT for the Gallery but for the shop right next to the Gallery. That shop actually houses many prints that are not visible and you may not know about them unless you learn from the highly professional Eli on the premises that there is a list of prints and with her help, you can find them in on of the drawers in the shop. I have seen a similar set up in the famous Stamp Museum of Hungary some time ago.
We had a wonderful experience at the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art. Brandon was an outstanding guide: knowledgeable, thorough, and genuinely passionate about the exhibits in his care. His insights added so much depth to the visit, and it was clear how much he truly cared about sharing the art with guests. We highly recommend taking a tour if you have the opportunity!
This exhibit showcases real artifacts provided by the Brooklyn Museum . It was a pleasure to learn about the reverence of animals in the Egyptian world at this gem of a gallery inside the beautiful Bellagio Hotel and Casino. The staff deserve an applause as they were so friendly.
This was a lovely break from the Vegas experience. Moonyean gave us a quick and helpful overview and we really enjoyed the Soulful Creatures exhibit. The CT scan and X-rays of mummies were very cool!
I have been to vegas over 50 times in my life, and I can tell you this was a highlight of all those experiences. Tucked away from the loud casino, the gallery provides solace and relaxation in an otherwise loud place. I went with my girlfriend and we walked up to the counter. We were greeted by a person named Brandon who absolutely elevated our experience. He explained the pieces of the gallery, the historical context of the time, told us stories of the people and items inside, and just all around we felt like we were taken on a story even before stepping in. The dude should honestly have his own history show. We stepped inside to a quiet, peaceful, and awe inspiring place. I can't remember ho long we spent inside, maybe 45 min? maybe an hour? For the 2 of us, it was only $50 and its easily the best 50 you will spend in vegas - considering the price of everything else. We also learned the Gallery rotates its items about every 6-8 months, which is the exact timing of when we periodically go to vegas. We will return every time and I look forward to it.
We stopped by the gallery to take photos in front, Moonyean at front desk was absolutely kind and inviting. She explained the gallery exhibit’s history in which we had to see. Not often does one get to enter a gallery and witness mummies from ancient Egypt. It was an educational experience, I will never forget!
What a beautiful gallery! Excellent curation and space design. Brandon and Eli were both so warm, welcoming, and helpful with all questions. I asked about some of the specific pieces and interactive elements of the exhibit. Will definitely be coming back for whatever they have next.
Being able to see something that I have always been interested in as I took a coarse in anthropology in college and peaked my interest. Being in the room with all of the artifacts, I felt a presence. I would have liked to stay longer but was only in Las Vegas for the day and wanted to see more of the city so cold not stay as long as I wanted to. Just wanted to say thank you to my dear friend Brandon who suggested we see it. He is very knowledgeable about the exhibit. It is very much worth seeing and if you are in town I would suggest you see it too.
