I felt we had an authentic tour from someone who lived and experienced the troubles. The driver and generations of his family lived through the Troubles as residents within the walls.. The tour guide expressed both sides of the conflict and provided the history of the conflict back to the reign of William and James. I highly, highly recommend this tour. Our guide Mark was engaging, informed, and accommodating. Mark makes the tour personal as someone born and raised in Belfast. Our tour was two-hours long, and we could have gone on longer with him, which we did when he went to drop us off. We chatted with him for another 10 minutes or so in the car, but we finally realized that we had to let him go. It was eye-opening to metaphorically walk through the experiences of those that lived through The Troubles and are living with the current aftermath. The gates. The streets. The murals. The pictures of those lost.
Mark and Robert were amazing tour guides, the delivery of their knowledge was so professional but also stirred the emotions. I would 100% anybody visiting Belfast to seek these guys out to get more of an understanding of the area.

Robert was an excellent guide giving an insightful commentary as we visited the various sites of murals and memorials on both sides of the conflict in Northern Ireland and Belfast, explaining the history and some of the people involved. A truly moving tour, I would recommend that anyone visiting Belfast learns about the city this way.

We booked a tour with NI Black Taxi Tours during our visit to Belfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our driver, Robert, picked us up promptly from Titanic Belfast and took us to a number of key locations and murals across the city. Robert's knowledge and storytelling was informative of the history of the Troubles, the significance of the murals, and how the conflict continues to shape parts of Belfast today. Like many visitors, I assumed everything had largely been resolved following the Good Friday Agreement 25 years ago, so it was eye-opening to learn that there are still physical and social divisions within the city. The tour was engaging throughout and brought Belfast's history to life in a way that you simply wouldn't get from guidebooks or museums alone. Even my teenager found it interesting, which is perhaps the highest praise possible! A very informative and thought-provoking experience that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Belfast
