Melba's Chocolate Factory is a 'working' tourism factory located in a heritage listed complex 40 minutes from Adelaide at Woodside in the Adelaide Hills. From 1919 the South Australian Farmers' Cooperative Union made the site famous by producing cheese, butter, margarine and small goods, which were recognised worldwide. This activity ceased in 1976. From 1991, with 1940's era chocolate and confectionery making equipment, the current owners began their dream making old Australian favourite chocolate and confectionery. Visitors today find the old cheese factory transformed into a large emporium-style confectionery factory shop. This is a centrepiece for five different rooms, where various manufacturing processes can be viewed. These are the Chocolate Room, Depositing Room, Packing Room, Panning Room and Toffee Room.
Missing your cheese fix? Welcome to our "ready to go" cheese bags. We understand that our cheese lovers see cheese as an essential food so we've put together a range of cheeses in our signature cooler bags which you get to keep. Orders that are placed before 12pm will be ready for pick up from midday the next day. Woodside Cheese Wrights have produced a range of high quality and award-winning cheeses at their Adelaide Hills facility since 1994. Their sophisticated range of cow and goat milk cheeses are made by directly sourcing milk from small local dairies, providing them with excellent control of milk quality. Woodside Cheese Wrights are true to the word artisan, crafting all of their cheeses by hand. Some of their cheeses are seasonal and are only made when the milk is perfect for each cheese style.

Great fun, Vesna was a super tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and made the day really memorable.
It was a fantastic day and highly recommended. Our driver and tour guide Paul was absolutely brilliant, very knowledgeable and highly recommended.
Jerry was an amazing driver and tour guide. The tour itself is very informative and fun. Hahndorf was a very cute community with plenty to see. Wineries were outstanding! Highly recommend!
I love it and good experience. I love the wine tasting . Spent a lot in my 5 days visit . Will come back for kangaroo too. I recommend to use the tour while you’re in Adelaide . Stay in holiday in express
We had a great day out. Our driver, Paul, was informative while being very easy going and fun. He had a story for every occasion. The wine tasting and lunch at the Lambert Winery was delicious. I would totally recommend this to anyone who want to see the Barossa Valley. Certainly value for money!
Robert from CP Tours was very friendly and informative. First stop at the Whispering Wall which was well worth seeing and experiencing with our friends. We stopped at #1837Barossa sign for some great photos then on to Maggie Beers Shop for morning tea. Mengler’s Hill Lookout was next as we journeyed through the Barossa to Lambert Wineries for tasting and lunch. April at Lambert’s took us through the tasting and was a wealth of knowledge. Over lunch of pizza and cheeseboards we continued to enjoy the different wines and we all thoroughly recommend the visit. Our day continued with a visit to Hahndorf with a stroll through the quaint streets with ample time to shop. Last stop was Mount Lofty Summit where we could take in the views of Adelaide surrounds. Our vehicle was very comfortable for the six of us and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend CP Tours. Thanks again to Robert for making our day thoroughly enjoyable.
I had a nice enough day, but we did not do all that was listed for the day and only found out that things would be dropped off of the itinerary when we were underway. This, for me, made the tour a bit less worth what I paid for. Again, it was a nice enough time, but at the end of the day just didn't quite meet my expectations.
Paul, our guide and driver, made my visit to the Barossa and Hahndorf very enjoyable and memorable. He is informative and tells some great stories about this area with lots of passion. The included lunch of fresh wood fired pizzas, Winemakers platters and the not-to-be-missed hot chips at Lambert Estate Winery was really delicious. Also loved visiting Maggie Beer's Farm Shop and the quaint town of Hahndorf. All in all a great day!
Would highly recommend, our tour guide Paul was lovey, full of knowledge and accomodating. Lamberts winery was the highlight in the Barossa. Hahndorf a nice little village with heaps to do and see. Must recommend 😌🍷
We had a fantastic day out in the Barossa with our knowledgeable, engaging and experienced guide Phil. Picked up at our Adelaide hotel and whisked to the Barossa for excellent wine tasting at smaller boutique wineries. Coffee at Maggie Beers was a great start and an excellent included lunch of gourmet pizza or large platter at Lamberts winery. Great gluten free options. Van was comfortable and spacious. Would highly recommend to all for a fun day trip in the Barossa Valley.
