Description

Step back into Bangalore's colonial-era Cantonment on this 3.5–4 hour walk through the historic Army Town. Once a pivotal British military settlement, this district shaped the DNA of streets you know today — MG Road, Cubbon Road, and more. Starting at the iconic Koshy's, you'll explore heritage sites through archival photographs and stories, with a continental breakfast stop at the charming Ceylon Tea Rooms along the way. This is a private, small-group experience (up to 20 people, just your group) led by Bengaluru Prayana, a heritage-storytelling collective founded by a lifelong Bangalorean. Discover the hidden colonial side of Bangalore beyond the tech hubs. View rare archival maps, letters, photographs and postcards during the tour. Perfect for: - First-time visitors - History enthusiasts - Architecture lovers - Military history enthusiasts - Solo travellers - Couples - Photographers - Curious travellers wanting to explore beyond the usual tourist attractions

Great experience

We had a fantastic two half-day private tour of Bangalore and highly recommend this experience. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made everything easy and enjoyable. We explored beautiful Lalbagh Botanical Garden, visited the vibrant KR Market flower market, and saw several highlights of the city. The flower market was especially memorable with its incredible colors and energy. Our guide shared great insights about Bangalore’s history, culture, and daily life, which made the experience much more meaningful. A wonderful way to discover the city in a short time!

Gavipuram walk

What a wonderful experience! This walk offers a fascinating glimpse into the culture, heritage, and vibrancy of old Bengaluru. I especially loved learning about the city’s legends and the lesser-known details of old Bangalore — particularly about the old road to Chennai. The guide, Raksha, is incredibly knowledgeable and bring the stories of the area to life with engaging insights about each site. On a breezy weekend morning, walking under the canopy of old trees made the entire experience even more relaxing and memorable. I would highly recommend this tour not only to newcomers to the city but also to long-time residents like myself who have never truly explored the history of this remarkable locale. In fact, I was so inspired that I ended up buying a book to learn more — and that speaks volumes about the impression it left on me.
